We read other TA reviews so we sort of knew what to expect. We enjoyed our stay but there were a few challenges. We traveled with our 2 college age kids. We booked a room in the main lodge (actually 2 adjoining rooms, each with a king and a bunk bed) It would be a challenge to haul your gear... More

We found our cabin to be cleaner than many of the big name 5 star hotels. The staff was always attentive and friendly. They always had smiles! The food was also 5 star. One night there was a cook out; with Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. The chefs were always available for questions and compliments.

We were staying at a local hotel outside of Sequoia when we realized how far we were going to have to drive to get to the Kings Canyon Highway and down to "roads end"; we decided to look for a place closer and as luck would have it, we found Montecito. What a find! The cabins are rustic, at best... More

I would have given this place a terrible rating if not for the food which was good although there was a lot of confusion as to the serving hours. The cooks were great. And Nick was an asset to the place. He tried very hard to make things right. Unfortunately he couldn't. We were in the main lodge and the... More

Although the place was overbooked, we drove the distance through the woods in hopes of a better meal than we had had the previous night at Grant's Grove. Definitely worth the drive. Bob, the Chef makes real hearty and tasty food. The selection was awesome...Roast pork loin and Chicken Cordon Bleu were excellent, tasty home baked bread, a wonderfully fresh... More

It was a pleasure to stay in this good lodge in beautiful nature. Between Sequoia and Kings-Canyon you can explore both national parks from there. Around the lodge are several trails also (map with tracks available). The accomodation itself is good and clean, even not very luxurious. The service/staff is very friendly and helpful. Meals are included so you can... More

Our trip started out like most- long flight, grab a rental car, get on the road... We were meeting up with a friend, but things went a little sideways-thanks to the California highway system and my Garmin. Needless to say, we were running late for check in, and dinner. Since we had already paid for the meals I was bummed... More

Montecito is a great hotel to stay, both as a couple or a family or a group of friends. Very nice location inside Sequoia National Forest as well as Kings Canyon National Forest. Hotel has great facilities. Very beautiful surroundings - next to a small lake makes the stay very nice. Staff is very cheerful and helpful. Breakfast, Lunch and... More

The lodge is perfectly positioned for those exploring the Kings Canyon/Sequoia area. The room was well provisioned and at a reasonable price. This is especially true with all meals included. There were two minor drawbacks though, the internet access was poor (making last minute planning tricky) and the main lodge was full of noisy families with nowhere to escape for... More
