We absolutely loved this place! Totally rustic and relaxing. My husband and I sipped wine and enjoyed crackers and cheese on the deck of the Shooting Star. Later we walked down to the store for a wonderful dinner on one of the outside picnic tables. We had breakfast there too. Food and service were outstanding. Our cabin had a great... More

Most of the reviews are pretty spot on but here's from the perspective of a family with two kids, 8 and 4. It was great to get off the grid. Note that there's NO cell service in the general area (like 20+ mile radius) and even the service right at the restaurant is spotty. But it's fine because you're here... More

We had such a great time in Silver City Moutain Resort. We spent 7 days in one of the cabins (Creekside), during September. The cabin was so beautiful and charming, you really feel like home... Every morning, you wake up in the nature, looking at the huge trees, as if you were into the wild ! The place is quite,... More

Silver City Mountain Resort is located just 90 minutes from Visalia CA, near Mineral King. The actual address is Mile 21 Mineral King Road, and the access road from Three Rivers with its numerous switch backs and breath taking views is not for the faint of heart, however the extra effort you expend in getting there is well worth it.... My wife booked this via Groupon for our family of 5. We loved the atmosphere, friendly staff and remoteness of the site. This is not the place where you expect to wine and dine. It's a cabin and you should expect as such. It has wooden floors and walls. There are no real frills, BUT for us it was what... More

My wife and I spend the first 3 nights of our honeymoon in the Honeymoon cabin, and afterwards we both agreed we liked this part of the trip more than our house within walking distance of the beach in Santa Barbara where we spent the remainder of the trip. There are some amazing day hikes near by, with amazing scenery... More

I'm not sure I would advocate spending an hour or more driving 21 miles on a hair-raising winding mountain road if the only outstanding thing about this place were the fresh homemade pies (berry, pecan, and other flavors), but when you add to that spectacular scenery, superb back-country hiking, wildlife viewing and relaxation and quiet, this is a great way... Our 2 families spent three days there with 5 kids. This place is in the middle of the Forrest totally back on time. We were spleping in the sawtooth cabin which is great for 2 families. The only thing you have to know is that the road to get there is though and 2 of the kids were sick. So... More

We stayed in the historic Forest Glen cabin for one night ($100) prior to a backpacking trip in the Mineral King area. It was the perfect transition from the hotels of the valley to the tent we'd sleep in on the trail. The cabin appears to be pushing 100 years old: original wood, dark inside save for two propane lamps,... More

We spent 6 nights in the Sawtooth Chalet with our family. We'd planned the vacation months in advance and have looked forward to the beauty of Mineral King. Our stay was delightful! The cabin was roomy enough for all eight of us including 3 little ones. The kitchen had lots of storage space for food and was well equipped. We... More
