We have camped at Potwisha many times, my first visit was in 1961, camping with my dad and brothers. The wonderful thing about Potwisha is it is only 2000' elevation and not far from the small town of Three Rivers. Two small Mountian rivers come together just below the campground. The water travels over granite stone, which takes the chill... More

This is one of the smaller campgrounds at Sequoia National Park and is the closest to the entrance. Because it's at a lower elevation, I think it's less popular, but I like being away from the crowds. There's only 40 or so sites in this campground, nestled along a branch of the Kaweah River, and most of them are good-sized... More

We really liked this campground. We pulled out 22ft. RV here and stayed in site #5. There's a pretty neat waterfall and swimming hole on the opposite side of the campground from where we were. We didn't use the bathrooms there so I can't comment on that. Someone in a big diesel truck with a cabover camper came in at... More

The campground was neat and we loved the sound of river from our campsite. The restrooms and sink were also neat. The closest shower is 17 miles from there in lodgepole market. the campground is in the foothills, therefore is not too cold and its open year round

We stayed in site #20 for 3 nights at the end of June, 2015. It was really hot!! Our site had a path down to the river and a decent amount of shade. The river was rocky, so just for putting your feet in, but it was nice and refreshing. Site #16 was nice and big with lots of shade.... More

We booked 4 nights here last week and left after the first night. This was the only campground available to reserve ahead. The ride from campground to the higher elevations and most sights in the parks is long with many hairpin,10mph turns. Making that trip up and down every day would have been miserable. We switched to Lodgepole as walkins... More

We camped here for one night and it was awesome. The bathrooms were clean and the sites were nicely spaced out and well kept. The park itself was amazing. The weather was cool and a bit rainy, but overall it was great. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. Showers were not available so bring baby wipes!

We visited the park for 5 days at the end of April 2015 to beginning of May 2015. We booked online not knowing the park at all #36. You can hear the river at night. Potwisha is about 2200 ft elevation and can be very warm in the afternoon (mid 80's) and cool in the morning (upper 40's). Very buggy... More

For $22/night, there must be a bathroom somewhere, but I didn't see it during the multiple times that I drove the loop around the campground to get to and from my site. I also didn't see any place to get water. Dumpster was at the campground entrance. Recycling bins were located throughout the campground, but I would have liked them... More

Stayed here mid-December, reserved sites 19 and 20 prior to arriving. Site 19 sits on the inner ring, down a small path from the bathrooms. Site 20 sits across on the outer ring, and was very large and private. The Kaweah river runs behind the site at the bottom of a small incline. After exploring the campground, we felt that... More
