Basic national park lodge deep in Kings Canyon National Park. It's the perfect alternative to camping if you want the high sierra experience without having to camp out or drive for hours from a motel. The Cedar Grove Lodge is right on the river and there are plenty of hiking and other activities nearby. You can even walk over to... More

This place is literally in the middle of nowhere! But any tourist stuck in that area looking for a nights stay is VERY limited with rates. Its a simple place to stay, no Marriot here, just some beds and a bath. Bring in your food and don't leave open food in the car, bears are all around there at night... More

We (four adults) stayed here for two nights over the Memorial Day weekend. Cedar Grove Lodge is located almost at the very end of the Kings Canyon scenic byway in the interior of Kings Canyon National Park. We had spent our day in the Grant Grove area of the park and got to the lodge only after sunset. We picked... More

Cedar Grove Lodge is a nice place to spend a day or two and get away from the hustle and bustle. The people there are very nice and helpful. This is not a luxury location. I would say one step above camping. The food at the "snack bar" is good, especially the hamburgers. We did not get to try the... More

Relaxing, beautiful and low-key location. Great for a getaway from the buzz of daily life. Bring a good book, hiking boots, bathing suit, binoculars and a few nice bottles of wine. I would leave any technology behind as it is of little use...not necessarily a bad thing.

Super nice lodge at the edge of the river. Good food. Well equipped room, suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. Evening meal served at the restaurant was good with pretty good choice. Good pancakes for breakfast. Good price too for lodge being far away from the civilized world. Price/quality is great 140 dollars for 1 room in natural environment.... More

We stayed here for two nights and were happy to return to it after our day hikes each day. There aren't many rooms, so that means it is already pretty quiet. All of the rooms are on the second floor of the lodge, the first floor being occupied by the snack bar and store. Our room was spacious and clean.... More

We have been visiting Cedar Grove for over 40 years. It has become our annual family reunion area. While most of the family camps, we've decided to spend all day at the campgrounds and swimmming holes and come back to Cedar Grove Lodge for the evenings-a shower & bed feel great. We also enjoy early morning coffee and quiet evenings... More

Our group of 5 were going on a 4 day backpacking trip (The Rae Lake Loop Trail) and The Cedar Grove Lodge, general store and snack bar were just perfect place for us to stay prior to the hike. The lodge is only about 5 miles from "Roads End" which is where there are several trail heads for both day... More

We just stayed one night so we could drive in one day and out the next - glad we did as Kings Canyon is stunning but a VERY wiggly drive. There aren't many options for accommodation. The rooms were comfortable and good value esp. compared to Wuksachi where we stayed the following night. The café is a bit basic and... More
