We stayed at Cedar Grove Lodge mid September 2011 and in fact booked a room here months before we arrived in California purely so we could spend the night in the canyon as opposed to driving in and out in a day. (We weren't equipped for camping but the campsites look great.) Our room was upstairs, accessed via a narrow... More

We stayed for two nights in a room with two double beds and an en suite bathroom. It was all very clean and comfortable. There is a cafe at the lodge, although at the time of year we were there (early October) the opening hours were reducing, beware of missing dinner! Since Cedar Grove is at the end of the... More

Just stayed here last week for one night and almost wished it was 2. I had went with very low expectations from everything I had read on line and was pleasantly surprised at this little lodge. The location is the real draw and being at the bottom of Kings Canyon along the river is just an amazing spot. Very remote... More

Spectacular setting, certainly worth a least a day trip. Lodge itself a little iffy. Coffee shop has limited offerings, cook looked like she was 80 yr old, short hours for breakfast and supper, during late season lunch served only on weekends, Unless you bring your own food (and you can't cook in the rooms), no other eatery within a 45... We have stayed here several times, and have visited many times. This cute little lodge has a great restaurant, and a nice store downstairs. It is very close to the King's River, and in the spring the rushing water is awesome. There are many great sights to see close by (not to mention the really cool drive down into the... More

We stayed in one of Cedar Grove’s three ground floor rooms. (numberts 19, 20, and 21 The door has glass pains, but NO windows. Indeed no ventilation of any kind – in particular no air conditioning. Kings Canyon was still HOT in end of August. The door has to be kept closed at night – we understand that open doors... More

What a lovely setting. A gurgling river right next to this beautiful forest lodge, an awesome view of the Kings Canyon mountains , cedar fragrance all around - what more can one ask for :). Although our motel like room didn't face the river, a few rooms with one queen bed on the lower floor do face the river (but... More

Our family and another family, total of 9 - 4 adults and 5 kids stayed here for a long weekend. It was great since out kids had never camped before and we were not sure how they would react to sleeping in a tent or not having all the normal amenities of home. We were able to explore the canyon... More

We stayed 1 night in late July on our Sierras tour. Had a great tour of King's Canyon including Grizzly Falls, Roaring River Falls and the meadows. Lodge was nice, we had an excellent room with a private terrace overlooking the King's River. Food in the restaurant was good, but found it a bit disappointing that it was served on... More

As we toured national parks in the western US, we wanted to see Kings Canyon and we were not disappointed. To get to this lodge we drove down a windy mountain road through an expansive, gorgeous canyon with towering craggy peaks dotted with flowering yuccas. The lodge is not at the end of the road, but not far from it... More
