The Location is really spectacular with the King River flowing within 10 yards and breathtaking views of the canyon. Zumwalt meadows, waterfalls etc. are within 5-6 miles. If you are planning on staying at this hotel and going back and forth to Grant Grove area, Sequoia etc, you may want to think twice. The drive from Grant Grove/Park entrance is... More

Honestly, I'm not sure what some are expecting from a lodge/hotel deep in King's Canyon National Park. Since this was a family trip that my mom picked up the tab for, I'm not quite sure what the room rate was but on the door it was listed at $119/night. Cedar Grove Lodge is at the end of a LONG, meandering... More

OK, first off realize you are in a National Park. For whatever reason they minimize convenience. This place is at the end (almost) of a long road. So if you have booked this place you have made a commitment. We stayed in one of the "patio rooms" (only 3 of them) first floor. It had a fridge w/freezer and a... More

If you have been to any national park service lodges, this one is pretty good. It's extremely clean although it's outdated. The staff was very nice. My only compliant is that the wifi signal is so weak you can't hope to get on, so don't come here if you expect to get wifi. We have AT&T and we didn't get... More

The price is way to high 130.00 and you get nothing but a place to sleep. No free coffee in the morning and the workers working the place are by the clock only so don't expect any thing but an over price lodge.

Drive down the canyon into Cedar Grove, quite spectacular. The lodge looks very inviting, it is essentially a huge log cabin. Rooms were a bit small and need updating and our aircon/heater made a racket but the beds were comfy and nothing nicer than going to sleep to the sound of a the flowing river, which is only 5 min... There is nothing fancy about this lodge, but it's clean and offers the basics for a trip into the forest. We had a good night's sleep and enjoyed a nice hot shower. We were on a three-night motorcycle trip, camping the other two nights... so this was a nice change from the tent. The restaurant served very good food and... More

Not great but good enough. Maybe obsolete for people with high standards, however. Wifi is free and accessible in our room (officially only in restaurant and patio area of the hotel). Restaurant and store close on 7pm. They have a great cook. Very nice dinner.

We were traveling by motorcycle and did not have space for camping gear so we decided to stay in the lodge. Kings Canyon is truly magnificent and worth the trip down a long winding road. Most of the day trippers were gone by 5 PM and it felt like we had the canyon to ourselves and a few others. The... More
