I booked a room in advance for $150. Now, you'd think for that amount, you'd get at least 3 or 4 star accomodations, right? Well, when we arrived, we discovered a dump - very rundown and dilapitated. It looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 1960s. My wife didn't even want to use the bathroom because there was... More

1 Night Stay 9/29/06. The online photos look better than hotel. So I am glad I was traveling alone and not with my family. There is a comfortable lodge with fireplace so you don’ t need to stay in the room. The restaurant was not operational and only a continental breakfast was offered. They do sell gas so filler up.... We stayed at Stoney Creek Lodge for three nights in August. The Lodge is in a great location if you want to visit the western area of the parks. It's between Grant Grove and Giant Forest. The lodge could use some updating, but was clean and comfortable. There is a nice continental breakfast included in the room fee from 7-10... More

After a night at Wuksachi, this place was a huge disappointment. The motel is actually on top of a general store. We checked in a little early and asked what time the restaurant opened. It didn't. So we had to drive down to Grant Village to eat. Before we left, we asked for a rollaway bed, since we were travelling... More

We just returned from a vacation and stay at Stoney Creek Lodge (6-7-06). From the one picture we saw that is listed in the brochures, it looks very nice, but note that the picture is only the front of the building. The Lodge lists a restaurant which we found was only open two nights a week, and served only pizza.... More

Spent 3 days at the John Muir Lodge and then three days Stony Creek. Our room at Stony Creek was worn, but clean and fairly roomy. The TV was ok for catching up with the news. The free morning continental breakfast was a bonus and had enough options to give us a filling meal to start the day. The adjoining... More

The lodges at Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks are acceptable but not as nice as the lodges at the Grand Canyon, north and south rims. Stony Creek Lodge lies within the Sequoia National Monument. The lodge sells gas and they have satellite TV's in the rooms. Further, they provided a free continental breakfast. The rooms are old but moderately... More

This place is a good point to stay if you are going into the Sequoia area. There is no restaurant there but there is a shop and the staff are very helpful. Two restaurants area a short drive away. We decided to just have snacks from the shop and the staff provided paper plates etc for us and were happy... More

Management scheduled cleaning of kitchen fan after hours. The cleaning of ventilation system took place from 9:30pm - midnight. It was extremely loud and irritating. Complaints were made and no apologies were forthcoming. "We have to clean the fan, and we have to do it after restaurant hours." EXCUSE ME but we are paying guests. Don't we have rights?
