My wife and I decided to go on a camping trip to the mountains for the first time. Because we are still newlywed and I still care about my wife ^^ I consider 3 important points about vacation (1. Price 2. Location 3. Activity). Leaving from Downtown L.A it took us about 5 hours mostly driving open range which was... More

This was my first trip in an RV (25 ft with 1 slide-out), and I was initially apprehensive about staying in a campground with no hookups. We stayed 1 night (11 Jun), and it was fine. In prepping for my trip, I'd read that the campground could be very crowded. It was fairly crowded, with RV lots right next to... More

I decided to take my 6 year old camping for the 1st time and with the help of jaycruz' review and actual tent site number (101), our first trip was a BLAST!!! The campground was full but our site was really secluded. It gets morning sun only. The only drawback was the noise from the river but not so bad... More

Just got back from a great three days at Sequoia, and I was very pleased with our stay at Lodgepole. We stayed at site 174, because I had heard it was the most secluded spot. Well, "secluded" is a relative term: although 174 is at the outermost edge of the campground, set into the trees away from the rest, it... More

We have stayed at the Lodgepole Campground for the past five years. All of our campsites have been in the same loop up near the waterfall. We have been during June and July in previous years and choose August this year so that we could splash around a little in the river. Last year they had a really high water... More

We camped at Lodgepole for 3 nights over the 4th of July. After reading up on the area I was very concerned about bears. Therefore, we chose a sight surrounded by other campers, packed our food in ziplocs, and tried not to bring "overly odorous" foods. Well, 4 1/2 days in the parks and we didn't see one bear. However,... More

June 8, 2007. Spent 4 days at the Lodgepole campgrounds, located in the Sequoia National Park. Had great time. Campgrounds were well taken care of and very well monitored by the Parks Service. Had everything one needs; groceries, laundry, showers and phone service. Plenty of room for our 36 Ft RV. Roads were narrow and sometimes steep. BUT, not dangerous... More

I have been doing a lot of camping in the recent past and I have to admit that the lodgepole campground has been the best so far. I booked my site from [--] and it gets filled up completely during summer. so make sure to book your sites in advance. Iam not sure of the number of sites in this... More

Well, I promised I'd come back to tell you how it went..... it was awesome!! My son was pretty impressed with the campsite I had chosen without ever seeing it before. Upon checking in at the ranger station, both rangers commented about the site I picked saying "thats one of the best ones"....but heck! It is THE best one out... More

We stayed at the Lodgepole Campground on September 30, 2006. For car camping, this is a very good campground. We booked our tent site online through the National Park Service, which is highly reconmended, as Lodgepole is the only campground in the park that takes reservations during the off season. You will find that after summer, many of the Sequoia/Kings... More
