We stayed for one night on our way through sequoia and kings canyon. After finally getting the key to a cabin on the second attempt (they were short staffed on housekeeping we were told - but also only one person on check-in desk both times with long lines) we arrive at cabin #1. it was a cosy duplex cabin, very... The tent cabin was clean, comfortable and the bare necessities. There were clean linens, blankets and towels. They provided clean towels daily and toiletries. We loved it!!! Not quite camping but not a fully equipped cabin.

Despite booking and paying for a duplex cabin with bathroom 9 months in advance of our arrival we were very annoyed to check in at around 4.30pm to be told they were overbooked and demoted to a rustic cabin without bathroom. I believe this is not the first time this has happened due to the attitude of the checking in... More

The cabins are rustic but cozy. They are centrally located in one of California's most beautiful parks. New interior paneling and rugs were a nice upgrade since our last visit. The heated floors in the showers will be wonderful in the fall, but not as appreciated on our June visit. Great place to take the family, especially if you live... More

Rustic cabin experience in a beautiful location. Great trails and hikes nearby. Near the Sherman Tree. A must for new comers. Bathrooms were very clean and heated, which was great during the cool evenings.

We knew we would be in the park all day and simple needed place to crash. Unfortunately I was so uncomfortable that I could not sleep. Beds sloped down in the center and pillows were thin and hard. Our sink sprayed us when we turned it on. No water pressure in the shower. We got up at 5am, packed up... More

I just got back from a family vacation to California. We stayed one night at the Grand Grove lodge and really enjoyed the place. Rooms are OK for the location, do not expect anything fancy, a bit expensive ($200 with AAA). Breakfast was excellent and dinner average. It's a great spot to sleep to visit the park. Recommended!

The cabin was rustic! Decorated in a very country feel. We loved having a fire in the wood burning stove. We brought all our food and cooked it in the stove. It was wonderful to be surrounded by the huge trees. It was so peaceful. It was very close to the General Grant tree. Only negative was that the lighting... More

Location is everything, to stay in the middle of the park to decrease drive time. If you don't want to pay lodge rates, and don't want to rough it in a tent or a tent cabin, then the camping cabin is for you. Make sure you get the wood cabin, not the tent cabin. You get to lock your door... More

If you like the outdoors and camping in a tent, camping in the tent cabins a step up. My only issue with my visit that I was not given the cabin I reserved any months earlier upon arrival. The check-in clerk said it was a computer glitch and adjusted my pricing as well as gave me a free meal voucher.... More
