It was our friend who made the plan for the weekend getaway in Sequoia. She's been going and staying at Wuksachi Lodge since it was just opened. I, on the other hand, was a bit nervous after read all the reviews. Especially the negative ones. I was glad that we went ahead and stay at this Lodge. I called their... More

In November, we recieved an offer for the Wuksachi Lodge, from the operator DNC Parks and Resorts. We were offered a $69 a night rate, which we accepted. It was at least 50% off the summer rate. We were booked for 3 nights. We hadn't been to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks for at least 20 years, and were anxious to... More

What a wonderful find and a great little family vacation... We spent 3 nights at Wuksachi the week before Christmas and enjoyed every minute of it. The Superior Room was clean, but a bit worn. The room was nice and bright with a sitting room for reading, but bring a throw blanket though, they get a little cold with the... More

Booked the room through the hotels website and paid about $90.00 per night for two nights - what a great price! This hotel has a monopoly up there since it's kind of the only place to stay unless you want to go camping. Awesome sized rooms...see the photos. Read some reviews about how dark it is at night....and was it... More

Wuksachi Lodge is a rather new property in the National Park. As such, it is neat and clean and tidy. While there is an attempt to give it the traditional national park look, it does lack the true character of the grand lodges of other key national parks. Nevertheless it seems to be the best place in the park to... More

You have to be essentially free of altitude fears to get there. When we approached from the Southwest, it was sunny and clear with all lovely surroundings. The Park attendant at the gateway took our money, while chatting pleasantly, and slipped in that we had 23 more miles to go, pointing up. After what seemed to be a million twists... More

We had a deluxe room and it was HUGE! The furniture was a bit old, but everything was clean and comfortable, most of all the bed! The view was great because it looked directly in the forest. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very good. The path to return to the bedroom after dinner was in the... More

We stayed in the Sequoia building and it is the least accessible of the three buildings (silly me asked for a room with a view). As others have mentioned the trek from the parking lot is long and uphill via switchback paths and stairs. Then once at the building there are more stairs to navigate. Twenty years ago this would... My fiancé and I came to Wuksachi on a look-see trip for planning our Sequoia wedding. We had already read all the reviews here, and were prepared for the worst and the best. Since we had been prepared for the distance between buildings etc., we were unsurprised and reasonably content with what we found. The only thing we weren’t prepared... More

We stayed one night at Sequoia's Wuksachi Lodge and found it a very pleasant experience. Reception was very warm by front desk personnel, with kind and accurate instructions to park and reach the room in one of the three buildings. The room was very large for 4 people and had style. Both room and bathroom were clean. The buildings' architecture... More
