We went up at the end of January specifically to play in the snow. We like to snowshoe around the grounds, on the nearby Clover trail, among the giant sequoias, and at Wolverton. We got about 30" of snow over 3 days and the road was closed, so we stayed an extra day. Extending our stay was easy. We couldn't... More

Even though it rained when we were there to play in the snow, the staff made a very pleasant experience for us. The food in the lodge was great, the waiter was spot on and the dining experience was one of the best. The desk staff accommodated our desire to leave a day early because of the rain; no hassle.... this vacation was my 25th anniversery and we used the superior room. The restaraunt food was awesome and ordered a cheese platter for and champagne. It was snowing and the roads are always plowed. !!!

We stayed two nights at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the first night at John Muir Lodge due to road closures (during Winter) to Wuksachi Lodge. An unfortunate situation turned into a great result, thoroughly enjoying our stay at John Muir Lodge with exceptional service particularly from Catherine. Our second night at Wuksachi Lodge proved to be worth the... More

Pros: Great / clean lodge, great staff, great location. Staff very helpful with digging car out of 30+ inches of snow, with snow chains on cars. Cons: Poor selection in gift shop for souvenirs - could not find a simple magnet or shot glass Restaurant food menu and quality needs to be updated. We ran out of options after 2... More

We stayed at the Stewart lodge in a superior room with 2 Queen beds #109, which provided an extra sitting area and more space for living. the room was spacious and very clean. Be ready for a large territory of the lodge, it takes about 5 monutes to walk from e.g. Stewart to the restaurant and the lobby, and, please,... More

This place is awesome! We always go in the winter so I can't say how it is in the summer, but they have trails for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and sledding. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, especially when we got snowed in! The snowblower was constantly going so they paths were always clear. The restaurant is good, but... More

Great lodges and rooms. More than enogh blankets available and the beds were nice and soft. Downside; the bathroom was a bit cold (november). The wifi signal was good enough for the basics (email, whatsapp). The restaurant wasnt the best (price vs quality) but good enough to just eat. Staff was wonderful! Very friendly and helpfull. Even at 00.30 when... More

I've stayed here twice and feel very comfortable. It gets quite busy for dinner so make a reservation. Seniors beware; the lodge buildings do not have elevators and you have to walk 5 minutes outside to get to the restaurant. But if you're tired after walking around all day, ask at the Front Desk for a shuttle ride.

remote, nature, rugged, adventurous, solitude, relaxing; Safe, family-oriented, adaptable, and accommodating lodgings in the wilderness; this place has it all. We were here in the middle of winter, when the snow is falling and the crowds are fewer; so come prepared hard-workin' fun in the snow.
