My family and I had a great time at this ranch twice now. We love it! The first time we camped in a tent and really enjoyed their cowboy-style breakfast and horse-trail ride. This time we stayed in the Little Log cabin, but the breakfast was unavailable at this time of the year. It was still fun and the cabin... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Winding River Resort in August of 2011 and absolutely LOVED Winding River Resort and Grand Lake! First of all, the placement Tripadvisor has on its map for Winding River is not accurate. This place is right above Grand Lake on the road into RMNP, very short car ride into the main street but far... More

Winding river is a wonderful place. Last year we took the trail ride with our family. This year we decided to ride the sleigh ride. What a fun night, complete with pillows and warm blankets AND a dog in the front who just loves to ride along. After the ride, hot chocolate and marshmallows we waiting around a warm fire.... More

This was a very nice campground not far from the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed at the end of September and there were very few campers around us (a little too cold, I think). The campsites are a little close together with not much privacy. Nice for camping with others, but might be a little close... More

My husband and I camped for a week at Winding river this fall. They were wonderful! Staff were call friendly and helpful. Great pancake breakfast on Sundays! The tent sites were all really nice and big. Bathrooms and showers were ALWAYS clean. Great place to stay! Will be back for sure.

My parents have a camping trailer and love to stay here. I have been joining them for 6 years now. The last three, my boyfriend has joined me and we have rented one of two "lodge" rooms. These rooms are over the main building/office/showers & bathrooms. We stay in the Larkspur which has a private, full bathroom, dorm frig, coffeemaker,... More

5 minutes to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and 7 minutes to heart of Grand Lake. This place is great for large family reunions or individual campers. There are two "sections" of the campground. The front section (closest to entrance) has some nice tent camping spots as well as some great RV places. The back section has really suffered from... This probably the only private campground on the west side of Rocky Mtn National Park. It's off the beaten path and very quiet. The roads are dirt and full of potholes and mud after the daily rains. The staff does not seem they know who is ever or what site. many sites get flooded during rains. You can camp with... More

I'm a single mom and wanted to take my son camping. Looked up a few places and found Winding River. This was THE perfect place for us. It was out of the way of civilization but still close to people and safe for us. It is amazingly beautiful there. The entire staff was seriously the nicest people ever! Took my... More

This place was so much fun for our whole group! We came with another couple and had a great time camping. Also, we went on a horse ride where all the wrangles were so nice and the people in the store were very welcoming. I definitely reconmmend everyone to go check it out if you enjoy camping and want a... More
