The Mammoth Cave NP campground is clean, full of trees, and has campsites adequately spaced between one another. We camp in a small RV, and we go out in the woods for the peace and quiet of nature. This park allows generator use from early morning till late evening (10:00, I seem to remember). To be blasted by generator noise... More

We stayed three nights here and really enjoyed the campsite. The site itself was spacious and had nice shade. We had deer walking through every morning and again aat night. The bathrooms were ok. The showers cost $2 for ten minutes and are pretty gross, so if you can get away with it, it's best to avoid them. We're used... More

Reading reviews on Tripadvisor Mammoth Cave forum, I contemplated hard whether we should stay at surrounding campground (such as Nolin Lake) but I am glad I settled for this one. We went on 8:45 am and 7:15 pm cave tours and if we were camping in Nolin Lake, as it turned out, it would have taken a good half-an-hour drive... More

We stayed on a Thursday night in June at the Mammoth Cave Campground. We had a reservation, but there were several sites that were vacant. People arriving without a reservation wouldn't have had a problem finding a campsite. However, I would imagine that the campground is full on the summer weekends. The campground is close to the visitor's center, hotel,... More

My husband and I stayed at this campground at site 26 in late May. Very nice and spacious site. The campsite attendants were very friendly and helpful. The restrooms were clean and easy to locate. Also, this campground is very easy to find (we easily found it in the dark) by following the signs to the visitor center/campground. My only... More

We spent several days at the Mammoth Cave Campground. Bathrooms were clean & modern, but no showers. There is a store/post office & laundromat in the park at the entrance to the campground. You can buy $2 shower tokens in the store and get 10 minutes of water in the showers in the laundromat. That was a first for me,... More

We had a great time camping at Mammoth Cave National Park. This was our first visit there and we plan to go back again next year. I thought I would struggle with a non electric site, but it was totally fine. The bathroom in the campground had outlets that I was able to use for my blow dryer and curling... More

We stayed one night at campsite #26. There were just two of us, and we wanted to make sure we were somewhere quiet. Our campsite was very large and level, but there were not any small trees or shrubs to make you feel like you had any privacy from your neighbors. Also, after driving around and choosing what we thought... More

I don't know why TripAdvisor has this campground labeled in such a confusing way. In the park, it's just Mammoth Cave Campground (no 'headquarters'). This is the main campground for the park and the one nearest the visitor's center. We had reserved site #6. It was easy to find. The sites are level and fairly large. The bathroom facility (real... This is the main campground, called Mammoth Cave Campground on the website. I was worried when I read the other reviews about the yellow jackets, but they were not bad at all. They only came around when it was mealtime (we kept all our food and coolers in the car) and if you sit around the fire, the smoke keeps... More
