We have come down to Mammoth Caves National Park for years, and for the last few years have stayed in the Woodland Cottages (always ended up getting a cottage near the parking lot). This has always been a great experience until this year when we got a cottage on the edge of the woods (#204). Unfortunately, we got zero sleep... more

We stayed in one of the historic cottages of Mammoth Cave Hotel. The cottage was very clean, and was about what I was expecting. The shower was spotless, minus the mouse droppings on the floor. But that is to be expected, when a structure is so close to the forest. I can handle it. And I didn't say anything to... more

We stay here when visiting Mammoth Cave. It is inside the park so it has great location to cave tours and hiking trails without driving. The hotel has been updated some but seems run down. The room didn't seem to have temperature control but luckily the weather was pretty nice. The rooms in the hotel are small (old construction) but... more

Mammoth Cave Hotel is just a short walk away from the Mammoth Cave visitor center, gift shops, coffee shop and restaurant. It is also close to several trail heads. The decor is dated, but everything was clean. Each room has a sliding glass door leading to a small patio containing a table and 2 lawn chairs. (We were unable to... more

My husband and I stayed at the Mammoth Cave Hotel and found it to be somewhat lacking. The rooms look like they were built in the 50s, where some like "retro", and I do to a degree, but NOT in the bedding. The bed was worse than sleeping on the floor! The setting was beautiful, however the rooms were small,... more

I've been to Mammoth Cave a number of times, but this was my first stay in the hotel there. It's really not very pleasant a place to stay. If you can camp, do so. Or perhaps stay in one of the cabins. The hotel itself was dank and dark, and the long corridors reeked of cigarette smoke. Soon after settling... more

We had a family reunion at Mammoth and rented 5 of the 10 hotel cottages. Location is great, in the woods, and close to great hiking, and of course, great cave tours, etc. As a matter of fact, Mammoth has some of the best winter hiking trails around. Simply gorgeous hardwood forest! Anyway, the cottages are simple, but comfortable. Bed... more

Although the building looks somewhat dilapidated on the outside, everything was functional and in good order in the room. While the room was not spotless, we thought it was above average for a national park facility and certainly adequate for our stay. It was very refreshing & convenient to go to the room & relax between cave tours. We were... more

We stayed at the hotel cottages. We stayed for a whole week. It was convient for us since we were volunteering at the park and did not want the constant driving back and forth. Pluses: We stayed during the heat wave of 100 degree days and the air conditioning kept up! However, the AC was very noisy! It kept waking... more

We spent one night at the hotel and were very pleased with the location. The Heritage Trail Rooms, where we stayed, are a couple minute walk to the visitor's center where the cave tours start. The adjacent restaurant had good food and was reasonably priced. The Heritage Trail Rooms had two double beds, refrigerator and TV in a fairly small... more
