My wife and I took our 9 month old camping this summer to Elam campground right off Highway 32. This is a great little campground maintained by the National Forrest Service. It is a fairly undeveloped campground. Facilities only include garbage dumpsters, pit toilets and a hand pump for water, but the campground is paved, so it is not diffucult getting around. It is a very beautiful setting, just off the Highway, but right along Deer Creek. This section of Deer Creek is stocked by Fish and Game, so the fishing is good. Some people were catching their limit of trout in 10 minutes. Because of the beautiful setting and great fishing, this camp fills up quickly on the weekends. There are only about 14 sites, and a few of them were closed due to damage. We arrived on the Friday after Memorial Day and were lucky enough to get a good site.
