We traversed Isle Royale and at the end we treated ourselves to one night at the lodge. The room was comfortable and clean with a spectacular view of Lake Superior from a porch that was part of the room. When we were meant to leave, bad weather prevented us from taking the sea plane as we had arranged. The staff... More

My husband and I spent 3 fabulous nights here. Yes it is expensive - but so are most National Park hotels. This is an island, where everything has to be shipped in and out, including your garbage. The views are fabulous, and if your room is on the first floor it will have a balcony where you can sit and... More

We had quite the adventure on Isle Royale. We planned to be there for two nights as its all we could afford, but got stranded on the island when the Copper Harbor boat was damaged and out of service for a week. The cottage was a perfect space for the family, one main bed (small and dated) and two bunks... More

Although there is camping and cabins available on the island, we opted to stay at the lodge. Each room can accommodate four people and offers a private bath. We stayed in Room 2. The room is located on the second floor on the end of one of four lodges so there was potential for noise coming from only one neighbor.... More

We stayed for 2 nights in a housekeeping cottage. The kitchenette was well stocked with a micro, range top, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans and everything that you need to eat and serve a meal. We had a view of Lake Superior that was breath taking! Keep in mind that this is a remote spot - Isle Royale National Park -... More

Tired from a final leg if our backpacking trip, soaked from rain, and finding all the sheltered camping options taken and crowded, my wonderful husband rented a housekeeping cabin for our last night on Isle Royale. It was wonderful. The cabins are spacious and quiet. The staff were great. It made our last day relaxing. I would plan this extra... More

I initially wrote my review under "Rock Harbor" as this didn't come up. Anyway, even though Isle Royale was boring and not as scenic as we had hoped, Rock Harbor Lodge was quite lovely. We had a very nice room with a walk out patio, overlooking Lake Superior. No towels in the room, but we soon fixed that, and the... More

We landed on the Island at 11:30 am and we were able to access our rooms by Noon. There is a small restaurant and grill next door. The food was excellent and not overly expensive. We took day hikes and came back for a great hot shower, relaxing on our balcony with a gook book and inevitably a nap. Fabulous... More

As a child, my parents took my sister and I to Isle Royale for an unforgettable trip. Now, over 35 years later, I recently visited Isle Royale again with my family. With a 10 year old and 6 year, we stayed three nights at the Rock Harbor Lodge. The rooms were comfortable, and the setting of the rooms couldn't be... More

My wife and I just returned from an action-packed 3-day trip to Isle Royale. We stayed at a house keeping cottage operated by Rock Harbor Lodge. There are neat, clean, have bed sheets/pillows, and kitchen set-up for you to cook (no oven, but have stove top and microwave) including pots, pans, and utensils. If veggies, fruits, and other healthy foods... More
