This abode of relaxation was perfect for the two of us for pausing between day hikes between the volcano, desert, black sand beach and green sand beach. We stayed in the Heavenly Forest room, which was excellent. Felt like home. The fireplace was a nice touch and came in handy to warm ourselves after trekking miles in the gusty volcano... More

We stayed At the Craters Edge for our Big Island portion of our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more perfect. We loved the quiet tranquility of this place along with the amazing beds and unique rooms. This place is literally built in the middle of a rain-forest and since the rooms are set up off the ground, you truly... More

At The Crater's Edge is an excellent bed and breakfast. It isn't a traditional bed and breakfast, it is more a room stocked with food. They have items to eat, but do not cook on location (gave a great blueberry loaf and fresh fruit and got a microwave for cooking other items like oatmeal). That does not change anything to... More

We were in the Nahelanai room. It was very pretty, and there were some nice touches like a bowl of fresh fruit and some banana bread, but overall I would not recommend the place and I would not return. First of all, there was nowhere to put any of your belongings -- no drawers, no shelves, no storage except for... More

Loved it here. We slept so well! Very quiet and peaceful. Great for a short retreat to rest. Yummy fruit and bread. Loved the Hot Tub! Coolest view from a room ever! In the jungle! More

We spent 2 nights at the Crater's Edge for our 35 anniversary in the Haiku 'cottage'. How do you describe the quiet and beauty of this fablous place in the middle of a tropical paradise? Beautifully furnished room with windows covering two full sides overlooking wild orchids, bromelaids, birds of paradise, and other exotic flowers and vegetation. King Size canopy... More

We stayed at the Crater's Edge for two nights in June. The home is built in the rainforest, and the wrap-around deck and bay windows really give you the impression of being in the middle of it. We stayed in the NAHELELANI room, which was very clean and comfortable, with luxurious amenities such as a Jacuzzi bath, a large shower, King... More

We stayed at the Crater's Edge for 2 nights and 3 days on the occasion of my daughter's birthday. She loved the cozy, comfy room with a king size 4 post bed and fireplace and enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi very much. We also took the opportunity to get a lomilomi massage from an excellent professional masseuse at a nearby... More

We stayed here for several days when we visited the Big Island last October. We stayed in a room called the Haiku Garden. Overall, we were very disappointed. The "hotel" is really just 3 rooms in a private home on a side street. Not very easy to find. When we arrived at night, we were greeted with the following: "Who... More

We stayed here while driving around the Big Island. We had stayed at larger hotels at other locations so it was fantastic to get such a lovely warm welcome here. We were shown around the apartment and then out into the gardens where the biggest surprise was. There was a jacuzzi hidden in the rain forest garden. It was beautiful... More
