I don't want to say too much as I feel as if I am giving away a secret. Large, secluded sites with lush trees and lake access . . . perfect! Yes, mosquitos are active at sunset and will chase you down. We had our own private beach and swam both evening and morning. Bathrooms were clean and the campground... More

We had never been to Yellowstone nor camped in bear country. I really liked this campground. If you wanted to hike the Tetons or hang around southern Yellowstone it's a good place to be. This year (2015) Yellowstone campgrounds are all sold out by mid to late afternoon. We got to Lizard Creek around 2 and got the perfect site.... More

We only stayed here a night and we did shower elsewhere so cannot comment on facilities. Toilets were clean. There are some beautiful spots near the water and you will be sure to capture some beautiful sunsets here. We really enjoyed it!

My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the tent camping sites for a couple of nights and had a blast. We arrived at the campground later in the day than we would have hoped but were very pleased to find a few sites still available. I thought the site was great with plenty of foliage to block the view... More

My wife and her family camped at Lizard Creek in the 80's and kept notes of how it was so quiet and uncrowded compared to the other cg's in Grand Teton. When it was our time with our own kids to visit the park we chose this campground based on their memories. I would have to guess that nothing has... More

Sits along Jackson Lake with a nice beach. Away from the bigger crowds at other campsites. Restrooms were very clean. I like that tent camping is separated from the RVs. The campground hosts were friendly and nice.

Go to Colter Bay instead. Lizard had some of the worst bathrooms I've seen at a campground. No showers either. Scenery was great but that was about it. My suggestion is if you're visiting Yellowstone camp in Yellowstone and if you're visiting Teton camp in Colter.

I chose this location for its easy access to Yellowstone, lower elevation (warmer at night), and great views next to the lake. We arrived on a Wednesday mid afternoon in late August, and were surprised that half the sites were taken. Most of the sites at Lizard Creek Campground are great - adjacent to the lake or adjacent to the... More

Lizard Creek is the northern most CG in the park. It's also the quietest. Many of its sites are practically on the water. The views are great. Drift wood is plentiful for camp fires. A mother grizzly and her cub were rumored to be in the area, but I never saw them. All encounters with them had been peaceful.

I've lived and worked in the area for several years. This is my campground of choice. You're to the north of the Teton range, so the view isn't the panoramic view, however, you're right on the lake, it's a quiet campground, and you're away from the bustling of the park, but close enough to easily dip down to Colter Bay...
