Ok. To start off, this is not a Holiday Inn, Hampton, Best Western, etc, even though its priced about $95/night. You pay for the location and not really the accommodations. If you are expecting a super clean place, then you need to find another hotel/motel to stay. For us, it worked out great. We did not want to drive up... More

This is a horrible place to stay. I'm sure the cabin was built before 1950, with paper thin walls I could hear every word the people staying to the right, and to the left of me were saying. The bed was probably bought in the 1970's since they both sagged in the middle before I even sat on it. I... More

Not as quiet as we hoped. Easy access to the canyon south rim and to the shuttle busses. The food in the main hotel however is both over priced and really not great. The whole park area is served by one company so you don't exactly have a choice when it comes to food choices as they are essentially all... More

Maswik Lodge South accommodation is basic (Maswik Lodge North is superior) and in July, as a family of 4 not used to the hot temperatures, would not recommend as there is no air conditioning, just the wall fan. That being said the South Rim was a 5 minute walk and the free buses took us along the Rim to vantage... More

Maswik Lodge is a 4 minute walk to the canyon ledge. The set up is a main building, which houses the reception area, gift shop and restaurants, is by the main road. A number of buildings with the hotel rooms are about a 4 minute walk towards the canyon. Our room in the Mesquite building with two double beds was... More

On our last trip to the Canyon we stayed outside, so we were excited that we were able to book lodgings inside this time. It really makes all the difference. We had a car so we were able to drive to the major points that we needed for ranger talks, sunrises, sunsets... The room is small, so for a family... More

If you are looking for a more affordable option of staying on the Canyon rim this is a good bet. Set a little further back than the other rim lodges, as far as we could tell none of the rooms had a rim view, and the price reflected this. A couple of words of warning though if you chose this... As bright eager kids we got to stay at this awesome hotel near the rim of the Grand Canyon. I think I remember seeing somewhere that it is an old Harvey House hotel, so that made it even more special as we were all learning about that old chain and it's significance in school. It was rustic and fit right... More

We thought maybe "rustic" while near the Grand Canyon...not so much. Basic, small, dim, not at all an exciting or fun place to stay. The redeeming feature was the deer grazing at our front door when we awoke in the morning. This lodge was included in our 3-day package: 2-night stay in Williams, 1-night stay here, and a train ride... More

The price was reasonable and while you are a short walk to the rim, the accommodation was tired and cramped and could do with an upgrade. There is no aircon, just two fans and the room was very hot. We didn't eat in the cafeteria as the food looked awful. However, we did have a really good breakfast at the... More
