So. You'll see this a lot... it's about the location. It's the most basic and cheapest of the 3 hotels in the park, but IT IS IN the park. there's the number one bonus. It's my favourite bit of natural history in the world. It left me speechless I've never seen anything quite like it! So is it worth it?... More

You're in the middle of nowhere & there isn't a lot of choice. The beds are comfy, the shower is ok, it's a place to sleep. A short walk away is a good bar with cheap drinks. The breakfast in quite yuk- but as previously said, there's not a lot of choice. The Grand Canyon is a MUST DO!

location, location, location, but for the value $200+, room was very dated, average room, we had AC, so tolerable. super to be able to NOT take the bus, walked to the Rim trails, and got the knack of the wonderful Grand Canyon. Bus system IS free, we just chose not to wait,as an ungodly number of tour buses when we were there. Food court... More

The room was clean and plenty big enough for 2. It had 2 fans, but they did very little to lower the temperature in the room - it was very hot all night. The location to the South Rim is great and the canteen is simple but reliable. I would stay again.

We stayed in a cabin (4-plex) that was unfortunately right next to the busy road. Plus no AC so it became stifling in the afternoon; would be deadly in summer. No parking near our building. Small room and bath but it served our purpose. Big plus is 5 minute walk to rim with Bright Angel trail head and restaurants; nice... More

Why would you come to the Grand Canyon and stay anywhere else? Yes, its not your 4* hotel with a pool and a luxury bathtub but surely you've not travelled all this way for that. The reason you have made this journey is to spend as much time as possible taking in the most amazing, inspiring and breath taking sight.... More

We booked last minute and this was the only lodge in the canyon that was available. Very close to the rim of the canyon but the rooms had no AC. This is advertised and the room can get a tad bit cold overnight. Didn't really mind the non AC but my family members did. Clean rooms (we had two rooms... More

Maswick Lodge is not the top end of the accommodations in Grand Canyon, but if like myself you are late in booking, you are happy just to get the location. What you are paying for is the location. You are about 5 to 7 minutes walk to the south rim. When we checked in, we asked about dining options and... More

If the hotel were anywhere else, I wouldn't rate it above 2 (poor). The place is badly in need of a major renovation...inside and out. Rooms were relatively clean but there were some issues....sheets stained, hair in bath tub. Although it's run by a private contractor, the staff really had that government worker sort of attitude...doing enough to get by... More

It has taken me over 30 days to find the words to describe my experience at the Maswik Lodge. Let me first say that I originally booked 2 nights but left after one as I could not stomach the thought of another night at the facility. The heat was unbearable and with only 2 nonfunctional fans nothing helped relieve this.... More
