We stayed at the maswik lodge to visit Grand Canyon. The room was ok but somewhat outdated. It was clean and quiet however. The room had no air-condition (which we knew when making the booking) so it was quite warm at night. Still using the ventilators conditions were acceptable. Location of course was great: close the to rim and to... More

We stayed in the Maswik Lodge North. Good sized room, plenty of parking, helpful staff and only 2-3 minutes walk to the canyon edge. The room was basic but functional and perfect as a base to view the canyon and access the trails.

Stayed in the cabins which was in a good location to the canyon, only 500 yards away. The cabins were hot in the day so you need to bring a fan. My neighbors were young and partied late so we needed to call the Rangers to stop the party and let us sleep. We had a non smoking room but... More

The location is very nice. It's wooded on all sides and off the main roads through the village. It's not on the rim, but is only a couple of minutes away. For the price it was many times cheaper than any other near-the-rim lodging available. Also, don't let the railroad tracks right in front of the property fool you; these... More

We stayed at Maswik Lodge for 3 nights in Mid-May. The weather was cool in the evening and it was very windy all day…but the sun was intense. Make sure you bring warm clothes if you are coming this time of year. The hotel is very easy to find and is basically at the end of the road. Check in... More

Paid for the rooms that have air cond which is a must in summer. Checkin and checkout efficient with polite and helpful staff. I had a general enquiry also that was handled very professionally even though staff were very busy. Rooms were basic but clean and adequate for a two night stay. The focus is on Canyon views so the... More

I guess I was expecting a bit more for the price we paid per night. I now realize you are solely paying for the convenience of staying so close to the canyon. The rooms appeared out dated with stains on the carpet and upholstered chairs. There was a mini fridge, which was very handy. However, someone had left food in... More

Hot, hot and hot! Our room on the ground floor we had No air conditioning. We were unable to open windows because the windows were screwed down. Two fans which were noisy, circulated hot air all night, so at about 4:00am we ended up sitting outside...we did not feel comfortable leaving the door open whilst we slept as we were... More

The environment was rustic but the amenities in Maswick North were great. Clean and Roomy. Don't let the ugly bedspreads scare you! Very nice place. Our unit was near the lodge and air conditioned. Not all are beware when reserving. Short stroll to the rim and restaurants, shops etc. The whole park operation is vast, organized, and impressive.

There are lots of hotel choices when staying at Grand Canyon, but if you want something that's conveniently located to the South Rim, transportation and other Park services look no further than the Maswik. A 5-min walk to the Rim and Bright Angel Lodge; Park bus stop right there; excellent cafeteria-style food service with a great selection: fast & priced... More
