We booked an AAA tour of the Grand Canyon and the Maswik was part of the package. The entire tour was extremely well organized and all the staff very friendly. We were traveling with another couple and the Maswik was able to give us adjoining rooms (something that is hard to get these days). The front hotel staff was very... More

I was a member of a coach tour and there were a lot of coach tours in that night, Fortunately the blocks of rooms are well spaced apart so the resort doesn't feel crowded. The buildings have a rustic appearance. The rooms were very basic with no air conditioning, We were able to open a window because there was a... More

If you're visiting the Grand Canyon then the accommodation is of secondary concern. Here the lodge is for sleeping purposes only. So before I even start the review of Maswik cabins I must mention that the Grand Canyon is awe inspiring. As a South African, I always thought that the Grand canyon was overly hyped and marketed. It is absolutely... More

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was. We chose to stay here inside the park rather than driving in and out of the park during our two day stay at the Grand Canyon. We were expecting a drab, poorly maintained property but received just the opposite. It is not plush, but it is very nice. The private... More

We had a cabin with a view behind us of the forest. There were two chairs out back of our bed room door that were great for just sitting, listening, and chilling out. I believe I asked for the medium priced cabin. It was well worth it. Also I could not believe how clean the room was. The Management company... More

Our room isn't expensive or fancy, but it's conveniently located in The Village. Easy walking distance to the bus, the various restaurants, the west side trailheads and the mule barn. Huge disappointment are the petrified pieces of wood that are being presented as pillows. Bring your own pillow if you want a good nights sleep. We did appreciate the mini-frig... More

PROS: Maswik Lodge was within short walking distance of the rim, for a much lower price than other lodging on the rim. So for that reason, it was worth it to us. Front desk staff were super friendly. On-site cafeteria was convenient and had good variety--we ate there a few times over 2 1/2 days. I would stay here again.... More

Great location for your Grand Canyon Trip. Pretty close to the shuttles and trails and just all in all convenient. If you are expecting the Four Seasons, this is obviously not for you. But it is more than adequate for what you need: clean rooms, hot showers, convenient location. We came in May and it was unseasonably cold and rainy.... More

This was our second stay. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable and the staff are really helpful. The location is great and the cafeteria has a good choice of meals at a reasonable price. We booked well in advance as places do tend to book up quickly

No room at the El Tovar or the Bright Angel which would have been preferred, but the Maswick had a room and it was rustic, but clean and adequate. Our room had no A/C, only fans but it wasn't hot enough to matter. It is very convenient to stay in the village for quick access to sunrise/sunset. We ate at... More
