Great location! Easy walking distance of the canyon and everything else. Food choices are a bit limited. And I would have loved to have an amazing cup of coffee and watch the sunrise...no amazing coffee :-)

We travelled via the Hoover Dam from Vegas and booked the accommodation before we left the U K , check in was quick and easy the room had everything in that you needed very spacious and clean with a coffee machine ( something our Vegas hotel didn't have ) we were on the ground floor the room was lovely and... We visited Las Vegas over Christmas and decided to spend one night here to see the Grand Canyon on our trip. The lodge was basic and had most of the things you would want. It was near enough to the south rim. We found that most of the staff were friendly, but some seemed a bit grumpy. This is a... More

We spent one night here in the south end. Since the weather was cold, the room was comfortable. The room was a short walk to the trailheads. They had the wonderful Xanterra bath products. The cafeteria is great, especially if you come with a family where everyone might like something different. Yes there are more luxurious places to stay in... More

We stayed at the Maswik wanting to be close to the South Rim. It accomplishes that, but that is about it. We were really surprised at the service we received from check in on. Maybe the folks we encountered had a bad day, but no one was helpful. The room was down the road and the directions provided to us... More

We booked one night in Feb so we could see the sunrise over the canyon. We were not expecting much. Boy were we surprised! The room had a fridge, a Tassimo drinks maker, with tea, coffee etc, free full size gels and lotions, safe, ironing board etc. It was -4 overnight but the heating kept us warm. We were in... More

I was pleasantly surprised by the feel of the place, very homey. Just a short walk from the cabin like feel of the hotel is the rim of the Grand Canyon. The weather was the pits while we stayed overnight, arrived after dark, snowstorm and left early morning following day. Hoping to visit again to actually enjoy the beauty.

Stayed here the night of Feb. 12, 2015. The rooms are older but just fine for a place to stay right in the middle of the action. Trails around the park are nicely marked and the lodge main office has a cafeteria, pizza place, and a guest shop.

A great place to stay for location, and I'd rather stay ANYWHERE in the Park than outside the gates, but the facility is aging and it shows. No TV reception, no place to plug the coffeemaker they provide (!), small refrigerator froze our soft drinks even set on 'low'. There is no recycle of compostable material anywhere in the Park.... I suppose our 2 night trip to the Grand Canyon staylng at this lodge was what I expected it to be - the reception building was difficult to find in the dark as was the actual accommodation but the reception staff were pleasant and efficient and I suppose the same words could be used for the rooms. The rooms are... More
