After dropping son of at NAU in Flagstaff we decided on a whim to visit the Grand Canyon. We were prepared to make just a day trip as we know that accommodations are usually booked solid months in advance for summertime stays. However, we lucked out! Called Xanterra two days before departing Flagstaff and they had one room open for... More

This was a reasonably priced large room, clean , a nd all the facilities you need. It was a short walk from the canyons rim. Highly recommended for the budget conscious! We found our room to be clean and comfortable ... Slightly dated, but for the price we were happy.

We stayed here overnight as part of our route from Vegas to Palm Springs. We were advised y our travel agent that this was the best place to stay. Word of advice, if you are visiting the Canyon Skywalk and want to stay in the Canyon, don't stay in the south rim. We drove 4 1/2 hours to get here,... More

Ok. To start off, this is not a Holiday Inn, Hampton, Best Western, etc, even though its priced about $95/night. You pay for the location and not really the accommodations. If you are expecting a super clean place, then you need to find another hotel/motel to stay. For us, it worked out great. We did not want to drive up... More

This is a horrible place to stay. I'm sure the cabin was built before 1950, with paper thin walls I could hear every word the people staying to the right, and to the left of me were saying. The bed was probably bought in the 1970's since they both sagged in the middle before I even sat on it. I... More

Not as quiet as we hoped. Easy access to the canyon south rim and to the shuttle busses. The food in the main hotel however is both over priced and really not great. The whole park area is served by one company so you don't exactly have a choice when it comes to food choices as they are essentially all... More

Maswik Lodge South accommodation is basic (Maswik Lodge North is superior) and in July, as a family of 4 not used to the hot temperatures, would not recommend as there is no air conditioning, just the wall fan. That being said the South Rim was a 5 minute walk and the free buses took us along the Rim to vantage... More

Maswik Lodge is a 4 minute walk to the canyon ledge. The set up is a main building, which houses the reception area, gift shop and restaurants, is by the main road. A number of buildings with the hotel rooms are about a 4 minute walk towards the canyon. Our room in the Mesquite building with two double beds was... More

On our last trip to the Canyon we stayed outside, so we were excited that we were able to book lodgings inside this time. It really makes all the difference. We had a car so we were able to drive to the major points that we needed for ranger talks, sunrises, sunsets... The room is small, so for a family... More

If you are looking for a more affordable option of staying on the Canyon rim this is a good bet. Set a little further back than the other rim lodges, as far as we could tell none of the rooms had a rim view, and the price reflected this. A couple of words of warning though if you chose this...
