The Kachina Motel is as most have said an older hotel with few amenities- no frills. But the view is what everyone says is to die for. You would not put this motel in the "best" list for any motel that you come across in the country ... It is at best at par with a Motel 6 but where... more

This lodge has the most fantastic location with a view that can't be beaten. The rooms are fine nothing too fancy but they are clean and very comfortable and they are right next to the rim of the grandcanyon and the view really is as good, if not better, than the photos. Considering the location i still can't believe the... more

This lodge is very basic dormitory type accommodation. The view over the parking lot from our room left a lot to be desired. If one doesn't have a Grand Canyon view room, then one is better to stay somewhere else. The whole lodge seemed old and tired and worn out. The staff didn't seem particularly helpful. The Kachina Lodge was... more

Spent a couple of days at the South Rim. The accomodations at Kachina Lodge were better than expected but nothing great. We arrived early and were able to get parking in front of the hotel (as guests were checking out) and get a canyon view room on the second floor. The room was basic and the beds were ok. Our... more

If you stay here, be sure to get a canyon view room on the second floor. Otherwise ...forget it. Dirty windows.......no extra pillows or blankets...spot on floor carpeting........just an incredibly poor room for 180 dollars a night. We should have stayed in the El Tovar with NO view rather than here. Very late 4 o clock check in as well. more

My husband and I stayed at the Kachina Lodge at the Grand Canyon. It was great! The Lodge is right on the rim. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and appeared newly remodeled. The bathroom is a bit small but nicely decorated, with slate tile (I would remove the water glasses from the shelves. Too easy to knock off).... more

We splurged to stay on the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon and we were not disappointed. Our bedroom window had a view of the canyon - what a wonderful way to watch the sun rise and set. The lodges (all close by) were conveniently set up to accomodate travel arrangements, mule rides, dinner reservations, guided tours, etc. There are... more

Kachina Lodge is right next to El Tovar, but there is no sign, just drive past the entrance to El Tovar, and then go up the next driveway. Difficult to find parking right in front. I had to park down on the street. Checkin is at El Tovar. Rooms are much bigger at Kachina and have big windows with great... more

We (2ad, 2 ch) had in Kachina Lodge a one night stay during our california trip. We had a 2Queen room (2 floor) with partial view but the view is FULL. The El Tovar has no such good view. We had also visited Bryce Canyon which I found it better than Grand Canyon, but too cold during April (~1 degree... more

small, utility built ,warm, with no insulation between rooms, you can hear everything. The main restaurant in the EL Tovar was very good, A comprehensive wine list and good quality cooking, not fine dining. Very good service. more
