For this our 6th visit to the Grand Canyon we decided that it was about time we booked to actually stay in a National Park hotel. Our choice of room was made purely on availability, not cost, as like many National Park properties you are paying for the location. On this occasion we chose Kachina Lodge and were pleasantly surprised.... More

My 6th trip to Grand Canyon. I rate it a 3, here's why: Location is a 5 Walk to Bright Angel Trail head, El Tovar, walk to everything you want to see and experience on the south rim Rooms are a 3 Standard, not big, but clean. Have a 60s feel to them. Fridge and Coffee maker is nice. Flat... More

The outside looked like my NYC high school. Come to think of it, so did the hallways! So I was shocked to open the door to a beautifully decorated, well-appointed room with Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, comfortable beds and beautiful bathroom on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Stay here if you can!

It's quite expensive but very worth it. I woke up in the morning. Looked out the window to remind myself that I'm right on the rim of the Canyon before heading down for breakfast and hiking down the Bright Angel. I'd love to visit GCNP again and would stay here again.

We stayed at the Kachina after hiking to the bottom of the rim and camping for a few days. We got a room on the second floor with an epic view of the canyon. It's nothing luxurious, but the beds were comfortable, room was very clean and well kept, and there was a bathtub to soak my aching body. The... More

We stayed on the second floor corner room with an outstanding view of the Grand Canyon, well worth the extra bucks for a Canyon side room! Access was impacted by stairs, railings only on one side, and an elevator that only served top to bottom and not split levels. This could be a mobility issue for some travellers. Situated directly... LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! It was my first time visiting the Grand Canyon, and I think it really does make a difference to stay inside the park and to be as close to the rim as possible. Pros: - rolling out of bed at 5:30am, with a warm cup of tea in hand (which you can easily brew with the coffee... More

My expectations were set correctly. 2 star hotel, crazy parking(I recommend when you find a parking spot stay there and walk or take shuttle everywhere) it is all about location. Rooms were renovated in 2012 and better than expected for my one night stay. No complaints. It was great walking out of hotel and seeing the Canyon only a few... More

This hotel is on the south rim of Grand Canyon and the views are absolutely spectacular. The rooms are comfortable enough--good shower and coffee maker, cable tv reception is terrible and there is no ac in the room. To walk out of your room and walk just a few yards to be on the rim of the canyon is why... More

The reservation for our room said "partial view". Nothing partial about it. It was spectacular. Nothing to look at but canyon. Of course we did pay extra to be on the view side and we did reserve a year in advance and did request second floor and maybe got the best room. But a little planning never hurts. So we... More
