We stayed one night at Kachina Lodge due to availability. I would have liked to stay another night. The place is a perfect place to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon. The room was nice and decorated in what you would expect from a GC lodge. Parking can be a big pain if you show up late. We had no... More

We stayed at Kachina Lodge for 2 nights as part of our 6 week USA/Canada adventure. As mentioned in other posts the parking isn't great but we did manage to find spaces eventually. The room itself was clean and spacious for 2 adults and 1 child. Very comfortable beds and great amenities. The view from our window was spectacular. A... More

First impression of the motel was positive, the hallways were clean and wide. There were always a few container-carts sitting in the halls, even at night. The room was decorated and coordinated well, giving a good vibe. The windows opened onto a view of the canyon, even from the first floor. The temp in the room was just right, and... More

We arrived around noon and knew that check in was not until 4:00 p.m. but wanted to advise the front desk that we were there in the event a room opened up early. We were assigned our room number and told we would be called/texted when the room was ready. When we had not heard anything by 4, we went... More

OK, you don't come to the Grand Canyon and expect 5 star luxury so Kachina met our expectations of a perfectly adequate room, very close to the rim. Check-in was a bit of a faff as we had to traipse up to the El Tovar hotel where check-ins are handled. (A special note for anyone arriving in the dark as... More

We had a Canyon Rim view which was great and the room itself was modern, comfortable and with a good bathroom. The best feature of course was the two minute walk to the South Rim of the canyon allowing us to see sunset and sunrise so easily. We had dinner and breakfast at El Tovar and the atmosphere in this... More

This lodge was right next to El Tovar Hotel (where you have to check in). We parked at El Tovar and wheeled our stuff over since the receptionist gave us this advice since parking is usually tough to find. For a "lodge" it was a pretty clean and new space. They even offer a keurig machine with K-cups! There was... More

We stayed at the sister lodge, the Thunderbird, years ago with our children and made a mini-adventure out of our stay with just the two of us this time. The "lodge" looks exactly the same as ever - a not-so-attractive dormitory-like building from the 60's. The best part of the Kachina Lodge is its location on the South Rim of... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for just 1 night during our Globus tour of the Canyonlands. The rooms are just standard size, clean with standard amenities like coffee maker and refrigerator. What stands out for this hotel is its proximity to the Grand Canyon itself with great views available for those rooms fronting the Canyon especially those... More

We find Trip Advisor to be the best tool for planning everything we do. This being said we read the reviews and knew in front we'd have a difficult time finding a place to park prior to arriving. We weren't disappointed. All check ins are done at El Tovar. If you can't find a place to park near where you're... More
