This room was very basic but clean and we had a view of the canyon on a day that about a foot of snow had fallen. Like most of the reviews I agree that this is a basic hotel that has been updated but the rooms and the bathroom are small. It is a very tight fit to get four... More

It was kind of like staying at a highway chain motel. Bed was a little mushy, but linens and bathroom were clean, and everything was operational (carpet spotted but clean). It was nice to be able to check in and use the El Tovar lobby with the same privileges as Tovar guests; I think guests at the neighboring Thunderbird Lodge... More

This is a well run basic hotel on the rim of the grand canyon. The front desk is at the adjacent El Tovar hotel, which is quite grand, and when we visited, all decked out for Christmas including a 2 story christmas tree. Very festive. The Kachina Lodge is a short walk next door. Nothing special about the room, which... More

Let's face it, if you are going to stay at the Grand Canyon you really want a view of it from your room. What could be more romantic than that? The rooms themselves are bog-standard motel style rooms with nothing special and are pretty small. What is special though is the view from the window. The call it 'partial view'... More

So, I could give 4 stars because of the price and the actual room you get, since it's not a 5 stars accomodation, but be able to see the Canyon from your room and stay only 50 feet from the edge of the Canyon it's priceless. So, YES it is worth it. And don't get me wrong. The room is... More

Its location which is by the South Rim is simply awesome. Imagine waking up to a view of the Grand Canyon, it would be worth the price. Checking in & out have to be done at El Tovar which is a 5 minutes walk away. More

Stayed at the Kachina lodge on a Sunday night. The rooms here are not five star accomodations, but your not paying for that here, your paying for location. Walk out the door to the lodge, and your right at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. You can't beat that if you decide to stay outside of the park. The... More

We chose to stay here on a January trip to the park. Even though the prices were a little (but not too) steep, we found it to be well worth it. The room was nice, and the bedding and towels were new and in good condition. The room was very nice. The best part though? Not having to drive into... More

We stayed two nights at Kachina. I will agree with other reviews, It's an OK room. BUT, it is right at the South Rim. We walked 50 feet and we were at the edge of the canyon! Everyone we talked to was very friendly and the cleaning service was great. It is nice to have a coffee maker and mini-fridge... More

We stayed at the lodge for 3 nights with our 2 children. The rooms are quite small but are very clean and have all the amenities you need - fridge, iron, ironing board. The maid service is well above standard and they do a great job. Be careful with the restaurants, they don't take bookings for dinner (only the El... More
