This lodge was right next to El Tovar Hotel (where you have to check in). We parked at El Tovar and wheeled our stuff over since the receptionist gave us this advice since parking is usually tough to find. For a "lodge" it was a pretty clean and new space. They even offer a keurig machine with K-cups! There was... More

We stayed at the sister lodge, the Thunderbird, years ago with our children and made a mini-adventure out of our stay with just the two of us this time. The "lodge" looks exactly the same as ever - a not-so-attractive dormitory-like building from the 60's. The best part of the Kachina Lodge is its location on the South Rim of... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for just 1 night during our Globus tour of the Canyonlands. The rooms are just standard size, clean with standard amenities like coffee maker and refrigerator. What stands out for this hotel is its proximity to the Grand Canyon itself with great views available for those rooms fronting the Canyon especially those... More

We find Trip Advisor to be the best tool for planning everything we do. This being said we read the reviews and knew in front we'd have a difficult time finding a place to park prior to arriving. We weren't disappointed. All check ins are done at El Tovar. If you can't find a place to park near where you're... More

My husband and I flew to Vegas for 1st time and spent 2 nights here before family wedding. We booked several months prior and wanted to stay in park since it was a short trip. It took us about 5.5 hours to get there and made it longer with Hoover, Lake Mead and Route 66 stops. At this time, it... More

We booked rooms at the Kachina Lodge on either end of a rafting trip. The room was very comfortable with refrigerator, coffeemaker, and in room safe. The partial view was incredible! Even better was the service from the staff who made arrangements to pick up and store our luggage during the raft trip and then have it waiting for us... More

There is nothing like watching the sun rise from the south rim of the Grand Canyon. And nothing is better than staying just a few feet from the edge of the Canyon, as we did at Kachina Lodge. We were pleased and surprised by the rooms-good size, clean, decent bathroom and comfy bed, plus a few amenities like a coffee-maker... More

Canyon view, so close to food, Ice cream (yay), Bright Angel Trail, shops, buses. Great location. Beautiful in room. No idea about AC as we slept with windows down. Bathroom is small but well appointed. And the had a mini Keurig in the room. Big coffee fans here were super happy about that. Beds comfy. We will be back for... More

This building is a lot like a college dorm. Cinderblock wall on one side, small bathroom, kinda dark. Bedding is substandard, there was a big hole in our sheets on one side, no fitted sheet on the bottom so it keeps pulling out, feels like they've been washed a zillion times (which is better than not having been washed I... The room was adequate but the price was quite high. The air conditioner didn't work and the tv was on the fritz. They took $100 off the room but that hardly made up for not being able to sleep due to the room being so warm. Was truly disappointed but was too exhausted from hiking all day to try to... More

I am sorry that the air conditioning did not function properly during your stay. The system is actually a water cooled system, and was replaced recently. The rates are approved by the National Park Service based on like services outside the park. I am glad our staff reduced your bill to help offset the inconvenience. More
