The Grand Canyon is awesome! Staying here allows you to walk out your door and immediately witness this amazing site. However, before you get a room you must check in at El Tovar (just park in the drive in front of El Tovar, looking for a parking spot is pointless.) Once provided with your card(s), drive over to the parking... More

Parking was a huge problem, I had to park at the kennel which was a 25 minute walk to Kachina. getting around takes a little time because things are not clearly marked. Sometimes at night the room got hot because there is no air conditioning. mid July the room at night the room was 78 degrees. I don't see a... More

This is a mid century style hotel, nothing fancy, but nicely appointed rooms. In room Keurig which was nice. The best part was the view! We were on the second floor with rooms facing the canyon and it was amazing. We were able to take our coffee cups right outside the room and watch the sunrise in our pjs. Also,... More

The Kachina Lodge exceeded our expectations. It is perfectly located right on the rim. Choose a room with a view, and you won't be disappointed. Book early. There is no fancy lobby or restaurant on sight, but it is between the upscale El Tovar with a beautiful lobby and wonderful restaurant and the Bright Angel Lodge with several more moderately-priced... Parking was a huge problem when we arrived at sunset. They do not reserve parking for hotel guests. My husband spent a half hour looking for a space while we checked in and got seated for our reservations for dinner at the El Tovar. Fortunately, the restaurant understood our predicament and while they were packed, they did not rush us.... More

I wasn't sure what to expect from the Kachina. I had read mixed reviews of the various lodges at the Grand Canyon. I was very pleasantly surprised. The Kachina is right next to the lovely El Tovar lodge and the rooms afford a good view of the canyon from most rooms for half the price. I was half expecting a... More

I just saw Jenny C's review and think she must have been there the same time as me. We arrived to check in about 6.30 and it was a nightmare to park and find the hotel. Fortunately I had read that you check in at El Tovor, if I didn't know that I'm not sure what would have happened as... More

The location of the lodge is brilliant and ideal if you are visiting the Grand Canyon however, upon check in we were told the car park was very full due to day visitors. We drove round for around 20 minutes before eventually finding a car parking space. I feel if you are a hotel guest you should have a reserved... More

My husband and I stayed at the Kachina Lodge on May 31 and June 1. Check in was at the El Tovar, which we had been told. Process was easy with very friendly staff. We were in a King room, which I booked about a year ahead. We were given a second floor partial view room, which was amazing. I... More

Although pricey (that's the one missing star), this on-the-rim lodge is perfect for a trip when time is of the essence. We were at GCNP for 16 hours, from 6 pm (a bit before sunset) to 10 am, and we wanted to be close to the canyon.. and we were! The room itself (with two queen beds) was not fancy... More
