The location of the Kachina lodge is great. We had a room facing the canyon. The lodge reminds me of a student accommodation from the past - basic, old looking, not super clean but good enough, - it looks like something that hasn't moved with time since the 70s. Wifi was free but you can't detect it in the room.... More

The lodging options in the national park are all average, basic room, unrenovated for the past few decades, small bathroom and a funny smell but we were there for the view. The Kachina lodge is right on the rim, pay an extra $20 to get a room facing the canyon and on the second floor. You may not be in... More

The rooms aren't luxury but are of a very high standard. Good size, very clean, comfortable and warm. They aim to be sustainable and appropriate to the region which they achieve very well. A couple of minutes walk to gift shops, bars, restaurants, hiking trail and amazing views. We had a first floor room facing the canyon and WOW! We... More

We only stayed one night and chose a room with 2 doubles for our family of 4. The rooms are small/tight with 2 beds but the beds are comfy and we slept well. Check in is at El Tovar next door where you park to check in and they direct you to overnight parking options. The ground floor rim view... More

Stunning location right on the South Rim edge of Grand Canyon, look out from your room window to the incredible Canyon vista - seriously mind blowing. Rooms are basic & functional, very room in the freezing weather so cosy to come back to after a big walking day. Bathroom tiny. Clean and has all the required amenities. I searched for... More

Stayed here about 2 weeks ago with my girlfriend. Rooms are basic but have a lot of space and is clean. This is one of the lodge to go to if you want to be next to the rim. The views from the hotel room of the rim is spectacular. However, there are no amenities at the lodge. Checking in... More

Close to all amenities at El Tovar, all the Rim restaurants within walking distance. Walking distance to Bright Angel Trail head. We had to park at El Tovar because the Kachina Lodge was full. Excellent hotel and restaurants staff very friendly and made us feel welcome. First floor rooms could get noisy due to people walking in and out but... More

We spent two night at the Kachina Lodge in the first weekend of December. We lucked into a getaway special that included the room, breakfast and a tour each day - very well worth it. We had a gorgeous canyon view room - it says partial view but I guess we lucked into a nearly full view. It was incredible... More

If your planning to stay at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon this is a great option. It is a modern motel like lodge, you actually check-in at the El Tovar Lodge next door, and there are no amenities in the lodge itself. That said the rooms are very clean and quiet, the beds comfortable, and the shower hot.... More
