For a national park hotel, the lodge had been recently renovated. beds were very comfortable. extremely convenient to restaurants on property and near bright angel hiking trail. Would certainly stay here again.

We had heard mixed reviews but really enjoyed our stay here. It is hard to beat the rim location and we booked the partial rim view rooms which were excellent. It is not 5 star but not pretend to be either. Well worth it.

From our 2nd floor room we looked out right on the canyon. Marvelous view and location. Near rim trail, shuttle access, Arizona room, El Tovar and bright angel. Room clean and adequate for family. Highly recommend.

I would have given this lodge a very good had it not been for the foul oder coming from the AC unit. We stayed at the lodge two nights from 8/2 - 8/3, Room 6230. I did not book this room directly but rather through Caravan Tours. Immediately upon entering the room late in the afternoon on 8/2, we noticed... More

You know you've got it made when your view is the one that others who are walking on the rim stop at to take pictures. It may have been listed as a partial-view room, but it was breathtaking (with a special shout out to the reception/check-in team who suggested taking a first floor room). We came to be at the... stayed here July 25, one night, checked in at Bright Angel lodge. no parking near the room, parking spots are taken up by park visitors viewing the south rim.. Had to drop off luggage near room,, and park at a remote location. Got up early the next morning and moved the car close to the room, Motel room was nice,... More

Kachina and Thunderbird are directly next door to each other, and are comparable in room quality, but the first floor rim-side rooms at Thunderbird jut out and mar the view from the second floor rooms. Yes, you can see the canyon, but it is beyond the unsightly roof of the first floor, therefore, I would recommend Kachina over Thunderbird. It... More

The rooms were a little pricey and "fall views" were debatable but to be able to just get up and see the sunrise and then spend all morning walking around as the light changes on the Grand Canyon, could not be beaten.

Whats not to like about looking out of your window at the canyon and walking straight out of the room to those views. Nice large room with comfortable beds. Restaurants and cafe at Bright Angel and food court at Maswik were great value - expected high prices as you are within park and it's a captive market but this wasn't... More

A great location within the South Rim village. The rooms are clean, well equipped and within a stone's throw of the Canyon. Ample choice of places to eat within walking distance and the railway station is 5mins walk away. Free Wi-Fi for guests but very slow!
