I rarely think so poorly of a place to give 1 star, but here it is. I had read about the horrific battle to grab a spot. So, I made reservations 6 months ago at St Mary's. Then the forest fire happened...so to Many Glacier we headed. Arrived at 7:15AM. Was told by the park host, "Good Luck, I doubt... More

This is suburbia camping. I don't care when you arrive there will be slim pickings and you can certainly expect to be right next to someone. Is this really camping? I look to camp to experience nature not the crowds. A majority of the people in this campground are people with giant motorhomes who run their generators at night so... More

We stayed here the weekend after July 4. Thinking the campground would be less crowded after the holidays, we didn't arrive until about 4pm. Bad plan. Sites full. Well, at least we thought so. We obeyed the "full" sign, which we found later is perpetually staked at the entrance to the campground regardless of the actual status. So, the next... More

We arrived early, like other reviewers suggested, at 7:15am on a Sunday morning and had the choice of 2 open camp sites. Needless to say, we choose quickly. We stayed for 5 nights and was able to cover nearly all of the hikes around Many Glacier. Laundry is close-by and easy. Shower tokens are for 8 minutes and the bathrooms... More

It was very quiet and the sites had plenty of room. Bathrooms, water, trash, and recycling are spaced evenly. Sites are 88-104 are on the river and are generator free. We stayed in a site that was not generator free and we had no problem with noise. A lot of shade. Showers and laundry are behind the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn... More

... being near so much great hiking, the Many Glacier hotel (for warming up) and with a pretty drive along the Many Glacier Road to get there. I camped for six nights and found it to be clean & quiet, which is what everybody always wants. Can't rate it a five because it doesn't begin to compare with great National... More

I agree with everyone who states that it is a crazy system to secure a campground. We were warned by a friend to stay the night before at the Swiftcurrent Motor Lodge and then get over to the campground around dawn to find a spot. We were actually blessed and found an unattended site right away. With all that being... More

We got super lucky finding a spot here after a 1-night stay at the Swiftcurrent Inn (which we loved). We camped 4 nights in total in Glacier, and 4 nights in inns/motels. The campground here is "just OK". The benefits are: 1) very close trail access (Grinnell, Swiftcurrent pass, cracker lake, iceberg lake) 2) a 2-min walk to Swiftcurrent inn/restaurant/store... More

We stayed at both Many Glaciers and St. Mary's campgrounds within Glacier National Park. Many Glaciers was definitely our favorite. Each of the sites are much more wooded and a beautiful river runs right next to the campground. While the facilities are limited in the campground, there is a hotel right next door that has hot showers for $2.50 (8... More

As most people have mentioned, getting a site is super stressful and quite ridiculous. But once you do, it is very worth it. One of the reviews below does a great job of describing how exactly to get a site, however, they missed one very cruicial part that may help you out if you are one of the early arrivers.... More
