Stayed early June before peak season. Was very quiet, unfortunately half of the campground was closed, limited sites. Absolutely amazing scenery, wildlife and a real highlight of our trip. Older flushing toilet amenities, no showers, friendly staff. Quite remote from main towns, rough road in. Only negative is it's so beautiful that everyone should come here.

And the demand for it makes getting a spot a bit of an adventure. At the height of demand in July you are not guaranteed a spot at all no matter how early you arrive. In theory it is first come first served. The reality is that campers already there are looking for spots for their friends and the rangers... More

Getting a site in this campground was a bit stressful, but I think it was a bit easier for us because we showed up around 6 in the morning. Once you have a spot though, this is a great place to set up camp for an action packed trip to Glacier. We spotted a young bear right outside camp which... More

Really enjoyed our stay at this campground. Even though the campground was full we found it to be very quiet and it did not feel crowded at all. The process to get a spot was not clear, online said to use a paper plate and string with name and dates to save a spot, but really you need to put... More

We love coming to this campground, but the policies are ridiculous. We don't mind that you are close to your neighbor, we have been to several national and state parks and this is no better/worse than any other campground. We HATE the mad scramble to find a spot. The park has decided that you have until 11 a.m. to decide... More

There were very few cons to MG campground. It is true that this it is a very crowded campground and it is likely that you will be close to your neighbor. But if you are spending a ton of time in your campground then you are not doing Glacier like you should. We were able to talk to our neighbors... More

As you can tell from other reviews, this is a fantastic area that is worth the effort. This info might be of help for those of you with younger kids, age 5-7. The hikes in the area are many, and the hiking in my opinion is the reason to go to this part of the park. You can find short... More

Many Glacier area was best of what we visited, but all places we visited were wonderful. Not too crowded during 6 day visit early in the season (mid June). Iceberg Lake was a blast with lots of snow to play in. Who told the bighorn sheep that THEY owned the place? Lucky us to have such a great park to... More

Many Glacier and GNP is totally bucket list stuff. We spend our summers down in the Bitterroot in Montana and this year we took our three grandchildren and four adults to GNP and the Many Glacier campground. We have always tent camped and raised our kids doing the same. We last were in Many Glacier 20 years ago, almost to... More

The Iceberg Lake trail out of Many Glacier was one of the most scenic I've ever done. However, the first-come, first-serve policy at the campground was untenable unless you can put up with arriving very early and trolling the crowded campground, waiting and hoping for someone to leave. It gets a little predatory. We couldn't stand that sort of camping... More
