We camped here near the end of May so it was off season. You could tell that budget cuts have affected the campground at this time of the year. It was self registration and there were few people camped there. The restrooms in the trailer loop were very dirty and it was obvious they hadn't been cleaned in several days... More

This is a camp ground within the Everglades National Park. It is 1 Hour 20 mins inside the park with no gas stations. It’s a big open field open to first-come, first-tent set-up. There are restrooms with showers open to the public. There are fire pits available for your use along with benches spread around the park (they are movable).... More

This isn't an incredible campground but it is a decent place to stay. The mosquitos were bad around dusk. We put our tents under a tree for some shade and were hassled by a ranger for having them too close to another campsite although most of them had been empty throughout our 2 day visit in mid March. Where the... More

We camped here overnight with our tent in February. You can reserve your stay there, but not your site. It is basically first-come first-serve in the sense that there is a spot for you, but you won't know until your arrival where the ranger will put you. I guess, depending on the ranger, you have a chance to get a... More

Large unpacked campground in January. Lots of space and not cramped like so many other state and national parks. The Flamingo Visitor's area and restaurant were a nice surprise. We ate there the first night and found the 'fast' food to be very tasty. Previous reviewers are correct about the mosquitoes. I noticed some of the seasoned campers who had... More

Good clean facilities. Lotsa mosquitoes! Staff at check-in kiosk a bit stiff but ok. Open area campground with neighbors all around, privacy is not great. Prefered the Long Pine Key campground. However Flamingo has Showers!

The sites at this campground are large and well maintained. Solar panels installed in 2010 means that there is abundant hot water in the clean bathrooms. Plan on eating inside your RV though as those mosquitoes will carry you off !!!

Becasue water levels are high, the mosquitoes are worse than nornal right now. That said, this is a fine campground. Large sites, relaxed vibe, very clean bathrooms. Remember you are at the end of a very long road. There is gas, some basic convenience store food and a diner style restaurant. It is important that you think through your supplies... More

We camped here for a couple of nights and i must say, have not seen so many mosquitoes ever ! But if you are smart you can avoid the dusk and dawn times when they are most hungry. A very good sized campground. The boat tour of back country from the nearby visitor center is a must. This is as... More

I know it's in Florida and in the Everglades and bugs are expected. But the mass attack from mosquitos and no-see-ums was a bit much for me. I visited in December and wore protection head to toe (which greatly helped) but I lasted only one night. I'm a wimp. Not factoring in the bug experience, I thought Flamingo is a... More
