After a terrible stay at a nearby resort that dumps raw sewage into the K. river and treats it's staff like endentured servants, the ethical and compassionate folks who run Kanair/Skyline Lodge allowed us to eat our meals with them. They did not need to do this - we were not their guests. Several days of cookies, only apples (for... More

Kantishna Lodge is certainly better value than other lodges in the area. However, after staying 2 nights deep ' inside the park' I thought it would have been better to have had four nights in Healy. Kantishna does not have a lot of merit- the views are of a village rather than a wilderness area and even subsistence hunting is... More

About a fortnight back, we were sitting disappointed at the visitor’s centre of Denali National Park as the bus which was supposed to take us inside the park got cancelled due to heavy snowfall. However, it proved to be quite a blessing in disguise as the Skyline Lodge offered its stranded guests a free flight into the park  Needless... More

We like to travel on our own rather than with a tour. When I noticed the loft in the room, I invited our son, who lives in Fairbanks, to join us. My husband was not looking forward to the shared bathrooms but once there I heard no grumbling. If you have good topo maps of the area (our son forgot... More

Hard to review because different than a city or town. Here you are in he middle of nowhere. Food comes by air or truck from 300 miles away inFairbanks. All non burnable waste is trucked out. The season is super short and by mid september or so it is done. There are only a handful of lodging options at the... More

Skyline Lodge was just the right fit for my family - my husband and I traveling with my parents. From the flight in, which was exhilarating, to the care and hospitality shown during our stay, we found the lodge and staff to be the perfect base and perfect hosts. We felt comfortable with the staff, pilots and guests alike and... More

I have never felt compelled to write a review about any place...ever. That has changed now that I have spent two days with the Skyline family. And I mean that, family. They, in essence, welcomed us into their home. The experience was like staying with close friends over the holidays. In fact, Marge cooked a Thanksgiving dinner the first night... More

To the party people in the cheap seats, You've got us blushing. It was a pleasure to invite you into our home, and while we're fond of saying that in Kantishna "we're all here 'cause we're not all there," the truth is that hosting guests like you is the reason we're all here. Thanks for chillin' with us on the... More

Let me start by saying, if you are going to Denali, stay in the park, you just don't get to experience everything when you bus in and out. And if you are staying in the park, I cannot recommend the Skyline Lodge run by Kantishna Air Taxi enough. It's as far in to the park as you can go, and... More

We appreciate you and look forward to more great hikes, delicious meals and bike rides to Wonder Lake on your next trip to Denali :) All the best, The... More

We stayed at this lodge for two nights and it is about as far as you can go into Denali. This lodge was a highlight of our Alaskan vacation. When you book they let you know that there are shared bathrooms and the lodge is a bit on the rustic side but that seems just right when you realize how... More

Dear JosieJo02, Great to hear from you, and thanks for all the useful information in your review. We especially liked the fact that Kantishna was "the highlight" of your Alaskan vacation :) We look forward to seeing you again at "the end of the road." Blue skies, The KAT Crew More

Staying at the Skyline Lodge was a treat and fit our style perfectly. My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary on a special Alaskan vacation for two weeks. The first place I booked was the Skyline Lodge and then worked the rest of our trip around the dates approved. We are self-sufficient and don't need guided hikes, the Skyline... More

Dear prink2, It was awesome to host you for your 25th anniversary shenanigans in Kantishna! You definitely made the most of your time in Denali: a fantastic Mt. McKinley flightseeing tour with Andy, numerous scenic ridge hikes overlooking the Kantishna Valley and the camper bus ride along the Park Road. Solid work--we're proud of you :) Thanks for sharing your... More
