We booked a 3 night stay for four people. I gave an average because the staff was very understanding, accommodating and professional, otherwise the rating would be lower. They were waiting at the rail to pick us up, which was welcomed. The location is good and there is fairly reliable shuttle service though we were not informed that the same... More

Not many people are aware of it, but they also have a family (luxury) suite. It has a fairly large living/kitchen room area that has 2 sofas that turn into sofa beds, one decent bedroom with a king size bed, and one room/"closet space kind of room" that is adjacent to this bedroom, another room by the living room, and... Stayed in a yurt (economy cabin) which was clean and comfortable. Only 2 shared showers available and hot water was not garenteed. It is also up a steep hill so not easy to access if you have physical or health issues. Cafe had good food and they offered box lunches to take with you but tables were not clean if... More

We had a wonderful experience at the Salmon Bake in Denali. The budget accommodations with shared showers and bathroom were more than adequate (cozy down comforters and duvet!!!). The shared shower was hot and clean. The shuttle was always prompt and available. The staff was fabulous, especially Mike at the front desk!! He took care of us from the moment... More

We stayed in one of the basic cabins. It was fairly small although comfortable and clean with two double beds. It's very convenient for the National Park (only one mile from the park entrance). It's best to stock up with food and drinks in the supermarkets in Anchorage and elsewhere, although there are some small stores in the village where... More

We spent one night here on the way out of Kantishna to Anchorage, stopping at the Riley Creek Mercantile Center laundromat to do laundry ($2 wash/$2 dry -- about 30 minutes each.) The "shuttle" service is a bit confusing. There is a phone on the wall of the Wilderness Access Center (different from the Mercantile Center) and you can directly... More

Stayed 2 nights at Denali Salmon Bake Cabin. You will need to walk up a steep slope to get to the cabins. As it was summer, the hours of sunlight was long and we had a hard time trying to sleep as the curtains were rather "see through". Service was not too friendly. The restaurant has good food though.

The PROS: I can't say enough about the courtesy and professionalism of every staff member we came in contact with. The restaurant was superb, the packed box lunch for a Denali trip was reasonably priced and of good quality and ready for us before we left. There are at least 3 different types of cabins here, know what you are... More

We recently stayed in the standard cabins at the salmon bake. The accommodation was two double beds, plenty of drawer space, an en suite bathroom, and for some reason a kettle. Apart from the kettle there was nothing to allow you to make either tea or coffee, and on enquiry no member of staff was able to either give or... More

Do yourself a favor. If there is live music, go elsewhere. The only thing worse than a sound guy who has no idea what he is doing is a sound guy that thinks the only way to make awful sound better is to make it insanely loud. I've never seen bands on stage give a sound guy more dirty looks... More
