The location of this resort has been well thought out lying below street level and looking across the valley to wilderness. I make a point of this because the town site, on the road above the resort, must be one of the ugliest, commercialised centers you will come across in North America. Within the resort this is scene is hidden... More

We were traveling on our own, not part of a cruise tour. From the moment we got off the train from Anchorage we felt as if we were part of a herd. We were herded onto buses for the short drive to the lodge. When we arrived we stood in a very long line to check in. You would think... More

We stayed as part of our land package after our inside passage cruise on Princess. The rooms were clean and large. While I have no complaints about the rooms, they were not anything I would rave about either. In short they served their purpose. There is really only one family friendly casual dining establishment and it gets verrrrry crowded given... More

We stayed here two evenings as part of a land/cruise tour through Princess. The rooms are much smaller than we are used to (maybe they were trying to get us used to small rooms before we got on board the ship?? lol). There was no coffee maker in the room, which really drove us crazy. We like to have coffee... More

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge two nights and booked the Denali Tundra Wilderness Tour. TThis was done at the front desk of the Lodge and the bus pickup was right outside the front. he Lodge is very nice with the grounds nicely landscaped with large baskets of hanging flowers. It overlooks a river where rafting is done with beautiful... More

We were in Building 11 and I would recommend staying in one of the buildings closer to the restaurants and shops. It was a nice room, but our view was of the highway, not the river. I would recommend requesting the river side of the building and closer to main lodge. There was no restaurant in building 11 so you... More

Stayed here for two nights following a Princess cruise. Rooms were comfortable and had room-darkening shades for the almost 24-hour sunlight! Had a few on-site restaurant options; they were pricey but food and drinks were good. Nice vista views from one of them. No wi-fi in rooms but available in the lodge, which was tremendous-looking and a great place to... More

the staff re pleasant but the rooms are mediocre and If you are not fit do not stay unless in a group as the place is geared for people who are bussed in and out. We would not recommend it.

I stayed here for two nights at the end of August 2011. This was a great time of year to go because the colors were starting to change on the trees and the hotel rates were lower. I paid $100 a night. The property itself is beautiful. The main lodge is a real treat to spend time in. You are... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of our cruise tour. It is certainly not a 5 star resort. However, it was adequate for the couple nights we wanted to tour Denali. The worst part of the hotel are the rooms. They are pretty run down and old. The bathroom was dirty. TV selections are very limited. Wall could... More
