The Denali Cabins (not the Denali River Cabins) is a few miles away from the park itself, but they offer a shuttle that runs every hour to head into the nearest town (The Gulch) for a meal, shopping, or for small groceries. Their shuttle also goes into Denali National Park and the Denali Train Depot. But having to rely on... more

I think the negative reviews of Denali Cabins focus on the location and shuttle service, which is too bad, because I enjoyed the two nights we stayed here. The cabins are cute and rustic. They looked the way I expected cabins on the edge of Denali National Park to look; but I was still impressed, first by the fact that... more

The prospect of staying in a cabin on the edge of Denali was an enticing part of our Alaska holiday but this place was somewhat disappointing. The main issue is the location which is about 10 miles from the Park entrance. There is a limited shuttle service but as there is no restaurant on site this can be a problem... more

We stayed for 2 nights at Denali cabins at mile 229 of the park's highway. We spent probably a total of 10 hours in the room sleeping over the two nights and were gone exploring the park the rest of the time. For our purposes this worked out fine. The cabin was tiny, basically a double bed with enough space... more

Cabins were back to back and we could hear neighbors. Biggest plus: bus tour picks up here and is the only reason to consider a one night stay. Decent early morning basic breakfast. Minus: tiny, hard to get to sink in corner of main room, bathroom cramped, our cabin involved multiple stairways, very limited TV reception, cost $50 a night... more

Cabins are ok, though nothing special. Location is very inconvenient if you don't have a car. They provide shuttle bus to Healy, but not from 2-5pm, nor after 9.30 pm, so it's not easy to get to the restaurant/ store or to return on time to catch the last shuttle. more

During a recent vacation to Denali National Park, we stayed at Denali Cabins right outside of the park (actually it is located about 8 miles south of the park entrance), and this was by far the most disappointing aspect of an otherwise fabulous vacation ... mostly due to the shuttle service that they offered. The fact that the rooms were... more

The cabins are tiny. The first cabin we got had a double bed and barely enough room to turn around and had a shed attached to it that contained a generator. It was ok when we first got there but during the night it turned on and we hardly slept. We would have just left but finding lodgings around Denali... more

We used the cabins as a stop over after the 6 hour bus ride from Anchorage. To each his own, but after visiting "The Gulch," we were quite happy to be staying away from what wasn’t much more than a string of tourist traps. We stayed in the Family cabin at the back of the property and, in contrast with... more

We stayed here the night before we headed into Denali Backcountry Lodge. It is about 10 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park. Frequent shuttles to the park. Good breakfast in a huge dining room. Nice separate lounge with maps, pictures, paw prints/nature information. We were initially assigned to a family cabin at the very back of the... more
