My husband and I had been traveling in an RV for two weeks and needed a break- a real bed and shower were in order. We didn't have a reservation but stopped at the Resort as it looked very nice from the outside. I went inside to check on availability and thought the rooms would be very nice based on... More

Was happy overall, very typical for a national park. We did not have a room with any kind of a view, and it was very confusing to try to find our building at the end the property. Rooms were clean, but basic. Water temperatures in the shower went from almost cold to scalding with no warning. Staff were friendly, and good... More

Stayed in U building at the McKinley Chalet in a standard double room with 2 beds. I almost fell over when I walked in the room. I should have gone back up to the desk but was exhausted and was 9:00 p.m. had to get up at 4:00. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall. The bedding was so worn... More

It's a very rustic place, the rooms are very rustic and not all that clean, but you're in a lovely spot. The other amenities are ok and the food is not all bad. It's spread out and they use a shuttle to transport people around the area, although it's not much of a walk to the main lodge. We stayed... More

It is a better value than the Princess Lodge. They are close to equal in quality, but the Princess is higher in price. I stayed in both; wasted my money at Princess. You cannot park at your room which is sort of a room in a log cabin type building. The bathroom sink is in the hallway. We had 2... More

Our family of four stayed at the Chalet. The staff in the lobby, restaurant, snack bar and gift shop were all very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. The main bedroom had a twin bed that our son took and a full size bed that I shared with my husband. Our daughter slept int the "living room" on a pull out (not... More

We stayed at the Chalet for 3 nights in early June 2013 as part of the land portion of our Holland America Cruise Tour. This hotel is pretty basic in terms of rooms. The mattresses were not great and the linens were pretty basic and nothing fancy. We were assigned (despite having requested one big bed, K or Q) a... More

This hotel was booked as part of our tour with Holland America. We stayed in the Canyon Lodge on the 3rd floor for two nights and were very happy with our room and the Chalet. There is a short walk up a semi-steep hill to the main lobby or you can wait for the shuttle bus that comes by every... More

If you are looking for a 5-star hotel with chocolates on your pillow, go to New York City. This is a wilderness lodge in the middle of Denali National Preserve. It is lovely and clean. The beauty is outdoors. Our front door (building F) opened to the Nenana River below where we watched a mother moose and her two newborn... More

My husband and I and several friends just stayed on this property as part of a Holland America tour package. As others have noted, the place is pretty rustic. There is absolutely nothing fancy about the rooms. Our initial room assignment put us in a building far distant from the main building. To get anywhere required waiting for a shuttle... More
