My wife and I loved this place, not so much for the hotel as for the surroundings. The room was fine. It was clean and quiet. The restaurant and cafe's were a bit expensive, but I guess getting food to Alaska is, too. We hiked, we shopped, we had fun. If you get to go there, do go to Alaska... More

On a visit to Denali National Park we stayed here for 2 days and it was fine. Not fancy but clean and the staff was friendly. It was convenient to enter the park and there were 2 restaurants to choose from and a gift shop. The main restaurant was very nice and the food was really good.

We booked hotel in conjunction with a princess cruise. The hotel has a great location! The rooms were old and musty. It was warm when we were there and it has no a/c. Seemed over priced and over rated to us. We would not go back. The princess cruise was awesome btw!

Booked the triple Denali land along with a cruise, assuming we would in fact, stay in the park at the beautiful Wildress Lodge, not a hike away from even our own lobby. There are two couples, one will be getting over hip surgery, I am asthmatic, neither can walk up and own hills. Also reviews say musty dirty rooms, either could put me in the ER.Not having essentials,like... There are a lot of lodging possibilities on the property. When we were at Denali in 2009 they were just finishing up the McKinley Chalet Lodge so we stayed elsewhere on the property. This time, September 2013, we were very pleased to stay at the McKinley. We had a great view from our room, the bed was very comfortable, and we... More

the only problem I can see people having with this resort is that it's a bit of a hike to and from the reception/restaurant to some of the rooms. so if you're not traveling with your own personal car and you can't handle a brief walk then maybe ask for a room closer to the drop-off/pickup point. we personally loved... Ok, I get it. This property is just a short-drive to Denali National Park. Its only open a few months a year, around the park schedule. There aren't a lot of options in the area. I expected it to be poor value, but this place was a huge disappoint: dirty, old rooms, indifferent staff and way overpriced. Apart from its... More

Throughout the property there are dome-topped, swinging door garbage receptacles overflowing with trash. I informed the manager at the front desk after confirming with her that there were recent bear sighting on the property. The following day the trash had not been removed so I informed the front desk again. After my second request, the trash remained. Knowing that a... More

We stayed here as part of a Holland America Cruise/Land Tour. We have traveled the U.S. and stayed in many NP facilities. This one is no exception. You get a basic room with minimal amenities (soap, shampoo/conditioner ). It is just fine as you really don't spend too much time in your room. Our room was in the 'N' building... More

We booked this hotel as part of a cruise package. We arrived at the last week of the season. All of Denali was winding down. We stayed in the main lodge. We never had to wait for the shuttle. Very personable staff. Food very expensive. Excellent in the bar, cafeteria style in the cafe. Unfortunately, the park closed on the... More
