As part of a HAL tour we spent 2 days at this lodge. HAL now owns the lodge and is planning extensive upgrades to the property and hopefully some of the rooms although ours was comfortable. Some of the furniture is a bit dated and not in the best condition. Our TV was a 20" old tube style with poor... More

Well, wasn't it smart of HA to realize that taking people on a 7 day Alaskan cruise one-way would result in everyone wanting to visit one of the National Parks. They purchased a lodge which is only open in the summer months during cruise season. Actually, I think they built it - with oodles of rustic cabins lacking in charm.... More

Our accommodation was rustic in its atmosphere, and thus becoming for an adventure tour in Alaska. The amenities, however, cater to travelers who want to be comfortable. There is also continuous shuttle so that patrons do not have to walk that much between buildings...catering to the not so young patrons of Holland America Cruise Line who make up the overwhelming... The service and accommodations were outstanding. It is very rustic which is appropriate for the location and everything is casual. We experience rare, heavy rain which affected our tour into the wilderness and made transportation on the property grounds somewhat uncomfortable.

So many things were poor that it's exhausting to get them all down! In our first room (not where we requested), there was solid waste floating in the toilet; loose toilet seat; very slow drain in the sink; dirty carpet all around the edges & many bad stains. In the next room (where we did want to stay), also very... More

Depending where you stay at this vast resort - that is basically catering to Holland American and related tourists, we were fortunate enough to stay in one of the small cabins at the bottom of the hill. The main hotel lobby is extremely busy and wild and crazy in the morning with hundreds of people trying to get buses or... More

Hotel was nice enough. Even though I had to include a travel date of > Sept 2014 in order to submit this review, we were there during the month of August (back in 2000) and I only mention this because the weather was really great. Seemed like a nice time of year to visit Alaska in general. Would recommend this... More

We were here as part of Holland America land and sea package. We stayed down from the main lodge in a newer bldg. steep walk up but shuttles ran consistently for those that need them. Room was standard no frills. But your at Denali not hanging in your room! With the excursion it was tough to get breakfast so that... More

McKinley is a very basic place to stay. It's OK. Super touristy if you don't mind being with a gazillion ppl. Tourist strip mall across the street. We were with Holland America cruising in Alaska and this is their place that comes with the stay. I wasn't impressed when we were checking out and the woman who was checking us... More

We stayed here for two nights during a recent trip and found the hotel to be excellent. the room was comfortable as were the beds. Service was excellent and attentive. The breakfast buffet we had was excellent and it opened early enough that we could make our early bus to Denali. The main restaurant was outstanding if pricey. the location... More
