We arrived at out hotel (McKinley Chalet Resort) around 4PM and discovered that we were provided with excellent (4 hinge) chalet rooms down below the lodge right along the Nenana river. The resort is owned by Holland America and was built in the late 1980’s with all the chalet rooms recently refinished to an excellent rustic quality accommodation. The resort... More

This is a very large hotel which caters mainly for large coach parties staying for one night to visit the Denali National Park. It is spread out around large grounds with several separate blocks of rooms. There are courtesy busses which will take you to your block or you can walk. Although there was nothing really wrong with the hotel... More

Avoid the restaurants if at all possible. High prices for mediocre food. Restaurant employees were rude and lacked basic customer service skills. The location requires shuttles just to get around the property, but the shuttle are not allowed to take customers anywhere off the property. The views in Denali are awesome but not from this location. We were in the... More

Everywhere you look around the hotel is a beautiful scene. The lobby was comfortable and full of chairs where you could get your wifi fix. The rooms are in various rustic looking buildings and there was a place to wash clothes. Our room was a nice size. It had a seating area, a nice sized bath and a bedroom. There... More

Nice Compound, the rooms are located in various huts (we stayed in the Q one) which are build into a valley behind the main building that hosts the lobby and restaurants. From the bedroom we had a nice view over the valley with river Nenana as well as the surrounding mountains. Nice chambers with seperate bedroom, seperate niche with sink and... More

We stayed here as part of the Holland America "Triple Denali" experience. The room itself was in a lodge away from the main building but the shuttles ran frequently so we didn't have any problems. This particular lodge was recently moved and remodeled so it was comfortable enough if a bit lacking in some expected amenities (like places to hang... More

We stayed here as part of an Holland America land tour and we were certainly pleased with our accommodation. We were in one of the lodges away from the main building and had a large, king size room which was very well furnished. It was comfortable and most certainly a pleasing place in which to relax. There was frequent transportation... More

The grand chalet is appropriately sized for the grandeur of Denali. Behind the Chalet are lanes of two-floor lodges that seem to go on and on, tastefully rustic to complement the mountainous back drop. The interiors follow the log cabin theme, allowing guests to feel like they're staying in an individual cabin rather than a lodge. Our room was on... More

My wife and I were taking a family cruise with my parents and sibling for their 50th anniversary. As soon as it was planed, my wife and I booked the three day Denali tour for ourselves. It was always something I wanted to do so this was the perfect opportunity. I had read on line that some travelers were underwhelmed... More

Enjoyed a comfortable stay in a chalet. Room was not star quality, but fine for a two night stay in the pleasant setting of Denali National Park.Part of the Holland America hotel chain monopoly. No special features but comfortable bed. The restaurants were pricey as we had expected. The buffet breakfast was $32 for two of us. Dinners were comparably... More
