The Lodge was excellent. We stayed in one of many buildings that had 8 units each. Furnished very nicely. Had a Starbucks in the Lobby. Large restaurant with great morning breakfast buffet with reindeer sausage that are excellent...nice gift shop. A smaller restaurant in main lobby offering a variety of menu items. Rather pricey for what you receive. All personnel... More

We were part of the Norwegian Cruise Line passengers and we started our land tours first. The Grande Denali Lodge was the worst hotel that we were put at just because the lot of us were given rooms located where the baggage loading zones were!!! Guess what!! We were all woken up at 5am in the morning with banging and... More

I was a little nervous after reading a few reviews about the rooms looking dated. We booked a room with a view and it was perfectly fine. Nothing fancy but it was clean and nice. We enjoyed the views from our room and the restaurant. We ended up eating at Alpenglow a few times. It was a little pricey but... More

The winding, uphill road leading to the lodge is slightly obscure, but you can see the recognizable profile of the main building standing out above the cliff, thus making it a little easier to find the place. The rooms are rather plain, and it didn't help that the toilet had not been cleaned. Otherwise, the restaurant where we had breakfast... More

The highest hotel in the area with amazing views of the mountains. The hotel is made of buildings and they have free wifi. This was part of a package we had and the hotel was pretty good, the staff was helpful and there are great road signs on the way up the winding hill.

The mountain road up to the lodge is pretty steep, but notice the funny highway signs on the way up. The lodge rooms are somewhat dated but clean and the staff is friendly. Hint: book an odd numbered room so you have a view of the mountains and not the parking lot. The Alpenglow restaurant was tasty!

Dear BeverlyWheelbilly, first of all, I LOVE your name! I am so pleased that you enjoyed staying with us and dining with us as well. You are correct, all odd numbers do have views and any rooms with in the 4000 does as well. There is an upcharge for a view room but it is well worth it! Dee Dee More

The views from the Lodge were amazing but don't expect first class accommodations. It was an average room, a little dated but very clean. Some of the rooms have amazing views while others are ground floor parking lot or views of other rooms. When it comes time to book, make certain you let them know that you want a room... More

Dear HonuAtlanta_Georgia, thanks so much for staying with us and taking the time to write a review. It is so wonderful to know that our Alpenglow Menu satisfies a wide variety of tastes! I am hooked on the Rib Eye Steak myself and the Brussels Sprouts! Our Scallops, Duck and Lamb are also very very good! Thanks for your kind... More

Fortunately there is a shuttle to and from the train station and also into town. When you see how high and windy the road to the hotel is you'll understand why this is a godsend. The hotel offers really nice views from many of the rooms and both the rooms and the lodge are very attractive. The lounge area was... More

Dear lestatsmikle, thanks for staying with us at our Superb Location! Yes, we are at the top of a mountain but the views are worth every switchback in that road (smile). Believe it or not, it is only a mile up the road - I know because I walk it quite often. The shuttle is certainly the best way to... More

Booked trip through Alaska Tour and Travel a week before we went so I can't complain too much. Rooms were clean, basic economy grade anywhere in the lower 48. Lodge is spectacular with stunning views of the Denali range if it is not cloudy. Restaurant and bar open until 11:00 with pretty good food at prices one should expect in... More

Dear 73journey, thanks for staying with us - I am concerned about our staff not being friendly, etc. Would you mind emailing me at dobrien@denalialaska.com and giving me a bit more information. As for training, we try very hard to hire the best and give them the best training we can. Imagine hiring 150 employees and having them all arrive... More

Stayed a couple nights here and it was very nice. They have shuttle service from the Denali Depot. They took care of our bags and brought them straight to the room. No need to "Check in" it was all done when they picked us up from the train depot, even though we got to the train depot at 1220pm .... More

Dear Kono H, thank you so much for staying with us. Having your key handed to you at the train depot is so very convenient and I am pleased that you noticed. As for the shuttle, if a guest returns late to the Wilderness Access Center or there is some other emergency (Denali clinic, etc.) there is only one shuttle... More
