This C.G. is NOT as advertised! Camping spots are very close to each other with some shade on only one side of the C.G.; the 3 flush toilets were Unisex in a very flimsy building -- trust me ladies, you don't want to share the restroom with males other than your husband -- or you could walk over to use... We stayed for 2 nights in the campground at Furnace Creek Ranch which has full hookups. No picnic tables. There are two showers available to guests at the pool, which were always very busy in the afternoon, so there was a wait. BTW it's quite a walk to get there. The pool was nice, the WiFi worked most of the... More

My husband tried to book two nights through the Xantera (the concessionaire for this property) website. It showed nothing available at the Ranch or Fiddlers Creek campground on Sunday. He booked Monday night at the Ranch (where they have hook-ups) and when he tried to book Tuesday, the website crashed. He called and found out that there were sites available... More

Badly needs updating. Torn up lawn, stairs to our floor had worn off paint. Carpets badly need replacement. Black hair on bed when we arrived. Thin walls. Not worth it considering the price of other hotels in the area. Will not come back.

I was able to spend some time in Death Valley this winter/spring and looked forward to it having not been there since being a teenager. However I was severely disappointed with Xanterra, a private company, when I arrived. Initially I thought that they were a park contractor as in other National Parks but then learned that their facilities are on... More

Our room had a patio to watch the stars and night. Staying in the park gave us a jump for morning pictures and star gazing. Hotel keeps the lights low so you dont feel like it is a big city. Restaurant on site with great staff.

We had a room close to the pool with a patio facing away from the sun so it was cooler than some of the ones facing west. Walls are thin so noisy from both sides but quiet after 11 pm. Easy to walk to the restaurants to eat. Spring fed swimming pool is wonderful.

Amenities Zero. No picnic tables and very little shade. One-half mile (at least) to the showers. No restroom unless you count the Death Valley Visitor Center which is nearby. Best to save the $18 and find a paved layby to stay at. Furnace Creek Resort which is 1/2 mile away (at least) is OK but over booked and over worked... More

Very pleasant resort with nice spring fed swimming pool. Green lawns, palms, tamarisk in the middle of Death Valley. Our room was clean. We had a room at the back of the property away from the pool, so it was very quiet. Staff was very pleasant & helpful. But watch out for the restaurants on the property; this is a... More

We have returned twice over the past 6 years for group camping in Death Valley and really enjoyed the group sites in Furnace Creek Campground. Bathrooms have flush toilets and are well maintained, each site has picnic tables and benches and a fire ring with access to potable water. IMPORTANT NOTES: (1) there is no real shade at these sites,... More
