This campground was great. Only seven sites so it is very small. The last mile of the road is rough. It was a great place to watch the sunset without hearing generators. It was a very quiet place to camp. Great view of the valley. Also walked to both overlooks from the campground.

As a photographer, Cathedral Valley was on my must shoot list. The drive to the campground was rigorous, even for my high clearance Jeep. Do not attempt this in a passenger car. The roads appears to have been significantly damaged by summer rain. The pit toilet was very clean and the view was spectacular. Camp I g is still free... More

You'll find this campground on the Hartnet mesa 12 dirt road miles from hwy 72 and 30 dirt road miles from hwy 24. You will find 6 widely separated sites, with a pit toilet, all with tables and firepits. There is no water or trash so bring your own water and emergency supplies and carry out all your trash.
