First, the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park is an amazing place. It is simply one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring national parks there is. In particular, I find the remoteness of the Needles District adds to the feeling of wonder you experience here. Fortunately, the Squaw Flat Campground is consistent with this experience. Quite simply, it is a... More

I don't regret staying at Squaw Flat campground. The views were spectacular, with fabulous sunrises and sunsets. There are great places for scrambling and exploring right outside of your tent. The campground is quite small and I luckily snagged a spot (site #9) located about 100 meters from the nearest neighbors. The tent pads are smaller than I expected, though, and I had to compromise my low-slung tent. Those with "boxy" type tents won't have such concerns, and everyone will love the soft dirt. Most sites are adjacent to large... More

We stayed here for two nights in November in the A section of the campground with nice views (east) and morning sun. The campground was busy with about half the available places taken on each night. It is your traditional campground and you can find most of the info at http://www.nps.gov/cany/planyourvisit/camping.htm. One thing we found after arriving was that there... More
