On a drive to Chicago our plan was to stay close to the park so we could go hiking for most of the next day. We found the Cedar Pass Lodge on our drive through the park and decided it was the most convenient place to stay. For what you get the cabins are a bit pricey, but the whole... more

We stayed 2 nights here and ate breakfast at the restaurant both mornings. If you want to stay in the park, this is your only option, but they weren't too bad. You could try something in Interior, which is very close (about 2 miles). The cabins were built in the 1920s, so they are pretty rickety and showing their age.... more

The cabin was pretty icky and it really smelled bad - I think it was the well water. It was definitely "roughing it". The cabin provided no means to cook or eat so you may as well get a hotel with a restaurant near by. Yes you are right in the park, but the city of Wall is so close... more

We enjoyed our two nights at the cabin, which were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was in good working order and provided plenty of hot water. The setting for the cabins is spectacular! In the evening, we sat out back and enjoyed watching the sunset against the walls of the Badlands. Also, we found it pleasant to... more

great location, but that's about it!! Cabins in need of complete renovations from plumbing to decor!! At the only restaurant in the park, we had to vie with a bus for breakfast. We had to have the buffet because of the bus!! No off the menu dining because of the bus!! And it was COLD! Best bet is to stay... more

I have mixed feelings about Cedar Pass Lodge, but feel strongly they need to renovate their cabins, if they are going to charge $85 per night. While that isn't terribly expensive, the cabin we had was not worth it. It was like staying in a trailer - a trailer that needs updating. The bathroom was tiny and though it appeared... more

These cabins are small and very basic but WHAT A VIEW! We stayed 2 nights and that was perfect. We hiked and saw everything in the park. We had 2 double beds and that takes up the whole cabin. We figured is was better than camping. We had beds heat and a/c and flushing toilets. We weren't in them except... more

First of all, this is the only place to stay within Badlands National Park, although there are commercial properties in adjacent community. The location is absolutely superb, with incredible views of the Badlands Wall, walking distance of the amphitheater and visitor center, and a five-minute drive from the major trailhead. The rooms ain't cheap, considering they are filthy, poorly maintained, and... more

This is a great location if you're into nature. However, there is nothing to do at night from 7:30 PM on as the restaurant closes and the town of Interior has only two bars - both of which are pretty sketchy. I wouldn't recommend more then 3 or 4 nights at the cabins as you may get pretty bored. Definitely... more

We stayed in a two bedroom cabin with the bath connecting the bedrooms. The front room contained two double beds, a dresser, one chair, coffeepot and AC. The back bedroom contained a queen bed, dresser, chair, small closet and AC. The bath contained a shower/tub combination, sink and toilet. No frills but was clean and comfortable. The rooms were small.... more
