We were suppose to stay at the campground three nights but ended up getting held up due to vehicle issues. We came in at dark the 2nd night into our reservation, to find someone was in our campsite (after talking to the folks at Cedar Pass several times earlier in the day to make sure we would still have our... Cedar Pass Campground is close to the Badlands National Park Visitor Center, hiking trailheads, scenic drives, and the Cedar Pass Lodge restaurant/store. The campsites are pretty close together and not very private since there are only a few trees in the campground (it's located in a grassland area). However, everyone was quiet and respectful while we were camping there. We... More

After state park camping in CO, WV, and MD, this was a first private campground. It's in Bad Lands state park which is great, but please be aware there are very few amenities nearby to restock. The layout made for easy set up, but I felt it awkward and a bit too close to our neighbors. The lack of large... More

Good tent pitch and hook up in the National Park. Convenient for lodge, visitor centre and amphitheatre. Quiet too. You can get an early start and awake to meadowlarks and bluebirds. No campfire sadly. Boys loved it. Does what it says on the tin. Thank you.

The view is excellent, they had a very nice evening program put on by the rangers, it is a perfect location for exploring the park and the bathrooms were clean. The biggest negative is that we stayed in a camper and would have loved a water hook-up, but none of their campsites had them.

Cedar Pass is a very nice campground. They have electrical and non-electrical sites. We stayed in one without electricity. Sites are wide spots in the road, but the area is wide enough you're not hanging out in the road. All sites have covered picnic tables and water is centrally located. We did not use the bathroom or shower facilities since... More

We camped one night in these campgrounds. Comfortable and clean. Very convenient for visiting the park. And we really enjoyed the scenery. We had dinner in the Cedar Pass Lodge. Good service. Food OK.

Badlands National Park is beautiful. The campgroup is unique in that you simply pull off to the side of the roadway; there are no "sites" persay. We arrived late at night, so it was nice to just pull up and plug our T@B camper in but this is definitely more of a one night stay kind of place. Campfires are... More

This is a beautiful spot, easily accessed but far enough from the highway that you won't hear it. My family and I had a wonderful time visiting Badlands and camping out here. The campground has a good layout and the park service folks and administrators were pleasant and helpful. There were only two real drawbacks: 1. There was no clearly... More

Badlands National Park itself was spectacular, and the view from the campground was lovely. But there was no place clearly marked for washing dishes, meaning that I and others ended up using the bathroom sink, which nobody, of course, appreciates. Most of the tent sites are on the inner ring which means they're less private. Also, we were at site... More
