While "dry camping" may not be for everyone, we love it and so do many. many others. Blackwoods bis and has been a wonderful experience. Between the grounds, the staff and programs offered, you can't beat that especially based on the cost. We particularly love the fact that as you drift off to sleep amongst the clear bright stars, you... More

We absolutely loved staying here. Great location - close to the park loop. Bathrooms were very clean. Showers are down the road (out of the park) for $2 (those were very clean as well!). My kids did the Jr Ranger program through Acadia and the rangers at Blackwoods were so great with them. The kids received their patches from them... More

this was a very clean, well kept camp ground. Lots of bathrooms that are spread out close to the camp sites. They were clean and well kept. The process of on line check in a few days ahead was nice. As we were a late arrival and all of check in was already. If u check out the sights on... More

Arrived about 8:30pm in the dark and had some trouble with GPS to the campground. Signs along the way were hard to see and we looped around the island a bit before we saw any mention of Blackwoods. Due to a change in our travel plans and the campground being full on our 2nd night we had had to make... More

My husband and I spent 5 nights in site A28. I prefer A loop because it is closer to the ocean path. We tent camped and the first night it rained. We discovered our tent was in a hole which caused our tent to quickly fill with water. Inspect your site and plan accordingly. The bathrooms were spotless and the... More

Absolutely hands down my family's favorite place on earth. We camp every year and both seawall and Blackwood's are amazing. If your a glamper its not for you but I'd you love family time and amazing scenery in nature than this is your place.

We stayed on the B loop. I think it may have been B201? All sites that we saw in the B loop seemed pretty decent, with plenty of room for parking and a couple of large tents. Bathrooms were clean enough, and are are no more than an 5 minute walk from any sites. The bathrooms have stations for disposing... More

The camp sites are closer together than some camp grounds. Each site is wooded and nicely arranged. The restrooms do NOT offer showers, soap or hand drying capabilities. Showers are available for charge right outside the camp ground, they are clean and numerous enough to avoid waiting most of the time. A nice general store is just down the route... More

We stayed at the Blackwoods Campground for 4 nights during a recent trip to Acadia. The location of the camp was convenient to explore the park and the shuttle runs through it frequently. We also appreciated that rangers are in the station until 10 PM. There are two loops - A and B. It's important to know that you are... More

Camping lots are in dense woods. Many fireplaces active at night, you might smell a bit after your stay. Inexpensive, but no showers. Restrooms good. Has a stop for the Acadia bus service. Showers are outside the campground for a crazy rate of 2$ for 4 minutes.
