Surprised my husband and kids with stay while visiting Verdun battlefields and on our way to Provence. Absolutely amazing castle in adorable hilltop village. We stayed in two double rooms in the tower with shared bathroom (kids in one room) and it was perfect for us as we have older kids. The married caretakers were very friendly and helpful in... More

Amazing old castle, friendly staff and was very cheap. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Took many photos of the castle inside and out and of the view down the valley. Highly recommend this place. In a classic sleepy French town which was a good change of pace. Very quiet, and was nice to wake up to listening to birds after... More

This is a fully renovated chateau with a beautiful location on a hilltop, overlooking the plains below. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the food served in the medevial dinig hall was superb. A true pearl!

I wanted to end our vacation out of a city and in a nice hotel. It's a little hard to find with GPS. It ended up taking us to the next village but not a big deal. Good thing we had a picture of it from the website. We stayed in a beautiful suite. When I made our reservation we... More

TOP location & friendly staff, Hattonchatal Château is really THE place to relax. The hotel itself is comparable to a *** but the location is everything. Everything's very clean and nicely decorated. There is no sauna, wellness area, restaurant and no mini-bar in the rooms. Wi-Fi is only available in the library. Don't miss to order an evening meal; it's... More

This must have been one of the weirdest “hotel” experiences we ever had. Arrived on a rainy Sunday afternoon before the gate of an authentic medieval castle. At the gate a small paper indicating you had to phone a mobile number to get the keys. This done a few minutes later a very nice lady arrived, welcomed us to the... More

We found this gem on the internet and booked it as a stopover for our European trip. It was ideally located to get back to the Calais Ferry by lunchtime. It is difficult to know where to start and how to express what a fantastic experience it was to stay in the historic chateau. We we travelling with another couple... More

Upon arrival we were greater by a friendly lady who showed us around and answered any questions we had. We stayed in one of the tower rooms, not the suites, and it doesn't have an en suite bathroom but that really wasn't a problem as a shower room was located right outside our room. The room was clean and decorated... More

My family was blown by the beauty of the Chateau, the views around the castle, and hospitality of the staff. We chose the lodging as a stop to visit Verdun. It is only a 25 minute drive through the French countryside to get to the WWI battlefields. Our family of 5 booked two rooms, 1 for my wife and I,... More

We had a short but great stay here! First night was a bit scary as we arrived very late at night and stayed alone in the castle but once the sun was up the next morning we were amazed by our surroundings. They were able to provide a breakfast with gluten free options for me without issue! We didn't get... More
