We stayed in 3 different game reserves, Kariega being the last. Of the 3, Kariega was the best for accomodation, in that we had a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom chalet all to ourselves (just the 2 of us), with a huge deck and plunge pool (shame that it wasn't warm enough to take advantage of). Unfortunately what was quite disappointing... more

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights in the main lodge as part of our honeymoon. I just want to clarify that I am not complaining for the sake of it, I just want to make others, that may be thinking of going to Kariega, aware of its big 5. We only got to see 3 of the big... more

Stayed 3 nights in one of the main lodge chalets perched onto the side of a mountain. The view from the huge balcony was pretty amazing even though it did get very windy at times. Our 3 bedroom chalet had all mod cons and was really comfortable. The games drives were absolutely brilliant and our ranger Rupert couldn't have been... more

Stayed in Ukhozi Lodge. This was our first safari so not really sure what to expect, but had a great time. Our ranger, Jo, was fantastic - very knowledgeable and a great host for our group of 5, previously unknown to each other, couples and it was obvious that she loved her job. The lodge managers, Stefan and Karen looked... more

This was our first safari so I don't know how good Kruger is but this was amazing! Really close to a number of Lions, Hippos, Giraffes, Elephants and loads of other animals too. Phil our guide really knew his stuff and was good fun. We cycled up the main gate to look for one of the giraffes but later found... more

When we first arrived at Kariega we were a little concerned as everyone else was out on their afternoon game drive and we did not have a great welcome, but it improved when the drives got back. The hospitality and food was brilliant, you couldn’t fault it. The chef even made special meals if someone was a bit fussy. The... more

We stayed in the Kariega Main Lodge on our honeymoon in September. When we first got into our room I was a little bit disappointed that we didn't have a real fire something which people we had met had raved about, however it turns out we probably wouldn't have used it much anyway, and the air-con was much more instant... more

As a party of four adults we stayed at River Lodge for three nights. This was our second time on Safari and chose Kariega as the cost of the previous reserve we had stayed at had gone up in price so much. What a great decision - we had an experience way beyond out expections, it was just fanastic. Our... more

My sister, wIlmarie, and I stayed at Kariega, River Lodge on the 14th and 15th of September and I would just like to give you some feedback from our stay. On arrival at the security gate we were met by Patricia, who told us that we could leave our car at the parking lot, she and the animals will look... more

Our trip was amazing. It was definitely a high-class safari. We weren't in ZA long enough to go up to Krieger or into Kenya--which I would like to do on another trip. This was a wonderful 4-day experience for us! We stayed in the bridal suite which was absolutely gorgeously decorated--not too campy and just the right amount of local... more
