You know, I sometimes read these reviews and wonder exactly what it is people expect, especially from family-run establishments. Recent reviews of the Tayside have been less than generous. This is a small hotel in a small Scottish town, within easy travelling distance of many amazing visitor attractions. Yes, the building is old and has its idiosyncracies. However, I would... More

Very friendly and helpful staff at the Tayside are unfortunately let down by the tired and dilapidated hotel they work in! It reminded me of 'Del Boy's' stay in the 'Villa Bella' in Only Fools and Horses Jolly Boys Outing! The room we stayed in was average and quite cold, the radiator was so old it didn't work anymore. The... More

Dear LeahDawns, Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking time to review the Hotel. I am delighted that you received such fantastic service from our Staff during your stay with us at the Tayside. I am however obviously concerned about your other comments especially as you label the Hotel as being 'dilapidated'. I can honestly say that I have... More

Very poor. Rooms poor. Served raw scampi. Then told by one of the owners there was nothing wrong with the meal! Checking out after one night and will not be returning. I have stayed in most of the hotels on business in and around Perth. This is one of to poorest I have had the misfortune to stay in. My... More

My husband was taking part in the Etape Caledonia cycle in Pitlochry and we booked into the Tayside Hotel for the night before the cycling (as had lots of other cyclists). The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Even down to them starting breakfast at 5am on the Sunday morning so the cyclists could... More

Took my son for a meal and wasn't disappointed. Steak pie, good helping and tasty. Fish very good indeed. Pleasant staff, prompt service, comfortable surroundings. We stay in Stanley and are lucky to have this place. Local walking/excercise group had Xmas lunch here and all very pleased with meal.

Stayed here as part of a business trip, as the office sort out bookings I can't comment on rates etc as I don't know. Check in was smooth enough, we stayed in room 16 ( the digits need to be put on door next to 15 so you know its room 16 as layout suggests possible shared bathroom with room... More

On recommendation from friends, I and three other friends recently called in for dinner at this family run hotel and we all very much enjoyed the experience. We had not booked so were quite lucky to be accommodated as it was pretty busy. After being seated in the Lounge bar our drinks order was served at the table and we... More

Not a bad hotel...........good sized rooms, excellent shower, and really good cooked breakfast. But the smell and the sticky surfaces caused by frying oil spoiled the experience. Not a lot more to say about the place but I need to write at least 200 characters. The bar was convivial and the menu had a couple of interesting dishes among the... More
