Food was good, portions, huge, cosy, really atmospheric and popular. The downside was turning up at 5.15pm with a hungry toddler and being told by a brusque young barman what we couldn't order food til 6pm. That's not very family friendly and missing a trick given that there were few if any other eateries in walking distance. A smack in... More

This is a traditional pub on the north Norfolk coast. It also has some of the best food in the area. The staff are great and the place itself has lots of original features. Lovely open fires for the winter, and a friendly welcome for dogs. There is also an area with some games for children. When I last visited... More

We had booked to stay at the Fisherman's return for the weekend with family for a birthday. There was some good things and things that could of been a lot better. We had rented all three of the rooms available with my nan and grandad in one, my dad and his wife in another and then myself and my husband... More

Rang midweek to book a table, told they do not take bookings but, even though we required a table for 12 on a Saturday night, if we just turned up it world be fine. We've just been turned away and are now struggling to find alternative for dinner for 12 on a 60th birthday party. Very disappointed and let down.... More

Was staying at a nearby cottage and was recommended this pub so decided a Saturday night dinner was in order! Especially as they welcome dogs. Was pleased to find a proper charming country pub that made me and my dog feel very welcome. The bonio's went down well with her and my food was delicious! Will be returning!

This is a good pub that caters for locals and tourists alike, giving both a warm welcome. They do good food and good beers. They will be able to do even more when they have completed their building work soon

We have just had a short break at the Fishermans Return and we found all the staff to be very helpful, friendly and pleasant. There is significant building work going on to provide, among other things, a much bigger kitchen which will help them to cater for the large influx of summer visitors and avoid such long waits for food.... As we are hoping to move to Hemsby in the new year, and were coming to measure up etc, decided to stay local for a long weekend. Great choice, this is a lovely traditional country pub with a good selection of real ales and excellent food. Although working with a reduced menu and from a temporary kitchen, (due to building... been here several and always been pleased with food. Ordered "pea & Mint" soup - which was actually "soak" peas not cooked enough. Was equivalent of eating hard tinned marrow fat peas. Left it as I was expecting soup! Rest of meal was ok.
