We visit relatives in this area several times a year, but have had great difficulty finding reasonably priced accommodation that isn't chintzy, 'twee' or downright old-fashioned and uncomfortable! Secret Escapes came up trumps with The Dabbling Duck.....situated in a pretty village, opposite the church, this boutique style inn was just perfect! Large(ish) room at the front of the hotel with... Set in a stunning location by the village pond I stumbled on this traditional but cutting-edge Gastro-Pub by chance. With fantastic Woodford's Wherry beer and Adnams ales this cozy but spacious dog-friendly Gastro paradise is a culinary diamond in the East Anglian flat lands near Sandringham. Sat by the roaring fire in leather sofas drinking fantastic beer on a winters... More

We spent a 4 day break here in November after seeing their discounted offer via Secret Escapes. It was a pub of real character with excellent accommodation and staff that would do anything for you- nothing was too much trouble. The food was of superb quality with an extensive menu. As newcomers to Norfolk we had a great time exploring... More

We spent one night at the Duck. This place is amazing. There wasn't even one aspect of our stay that was sub-5stars. On arrival we were walked up the rustic stair to an amazing room. The room was stocked with vodka cordial that was amazing. It was on the house. Dinner is in the common room and it was just... More

Very much enjoyed our two night stay at the Dabbling Duck. Delicious food, very pleasant and helpful staff. The manager who definately had his eye to everything. Probably one of the best full English breakfasts I have ever tasted.

We have eaten here many times over the past 7 years since it was bought from the council by a few local businessmen. The menu always varies, seemingly week by week according to seasonal locally sourced food. 10/10 for the chef(s) in producing very imaginative but limited menus but unfortunately not this time thoroughly executed as we had pork belly... We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting from Australia - wow ! A traditional English pub in a quaint Norfolk village - simply sublime :) Matt the deputy manager could not do enough to make our stay a comfortable one even going as far as buying my 4 month old baby some teething gel from the chemist as she was... Popped in with another couple on a Saturday lunchtime without having made a booking though were able to be accommodated and shown to our table after getting our drinks at the bar from the good range of real ales. As we were eating in the evening, we only needed something light, so ordered a selection from the Bar Snacks menu,... More

This property should come with a warning that if you have a need to sleep bring ear plugs!!! There are either constantly banging doors or noise from people in the bar/restaurant which given age of property is a suprise....not a modern plasterboard property!!!! My single room although pleasant had no wardrobe or chest only 4 hooks on a door. Having... More
