We stayed one night with dinner included. From the outside one is immediately impressed by the building, and the setting in this pretty village is perfect. This a pub which offers quality in so many ways. The bedroom was sufficiently spacious with a comfortable brass and iron bed. The food is very good indeed- clearly using local, high quality products... More

Stayed here last weekend with friends. Great base to visit Norfolk. Chilly weekend so fabulous to sit on a comfy sofa in front of the log burner after a hard day shopping! We stayed on dinner bed and breakfast deal which was amazing and included 3 course dinner which you could choose anything from the menu without a surcharge. There... More

Attended a 70th birthday party with just under 40 people. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly, beer or fruit juice and then a seemingly never ending array of canapés. They were so tasty and served with efficiency and enthusiasm. The main meals and wonderful trio of deserts were equally fabulous. Was very impressed would certainly return.

Welcome on arrival - friendly. Ambience - friendly and warm. Bar - pleasant. Room, moderate size, comfortable, clean and well appointed. Food - exceptional. We were quite unprepared for food of this standard. This was not something we had expected and even now, almost a year later, it is still firm in our memory. We will return, I am sure.

We visited for a special birthday lunch, and very glad we were to. The pub is set in a beautiful Norfolk village and is easy to find. We found parking almost directly outside and received a warm welcome upon arrival. Service was steady and very friendly and the food was excellent and well priced.. Highly recommended

Stayed for 2 nights over New Year in one of the recently opened Garden Rooms. The room was very clean and well appointed with a superking size bed and a really large bathroom. We ate dinner in the restaurant on both evenings which we both thoroughly enjoyed and breakfasts were great, one of the best full English we have had... More

Had one of the best seafood dishes here- a mussel dish with chorizo. The SO had the Sunday roast which was, alas, too rare. The beers on tap were pretty good and the bar crew were better than the restaurant folks. Do make reservations. It can get crowded.

Overnight stay, dinner bed and breakfast, this lovely country pub has it all, great service, food, beer, country walks etc. One of the nicest places I've been, the food stands out, all local, fresh and incredibly well done. The accommodation was lovely, staff friendly, not one thing lets this exceptional place down. Highly recommended and will be back, thank you!

Our third visit to The DD. We had all of the rooms, private party on one night and drinks throughout. Rooms are typical pub rooms. Clean tidy, well fitted and equipped if a bit small. But then you don't need large rooms and the prices are very fair. We had a private party on Friday evening in the Library which... More

The Dabbling Duck is very interesting an charming, as are the friendly staff. We came in late after visiting Thursford and they had laid on a tasty tapas snack for us. The rooms are small but for one night, quite adequate, a good choice for breakfast although I fear the small kipper was over-cooked and dried out to the point... More
