Stayed two nights. Very good. Nothing too much trouble. Comfortable and cosy. We'd definitely stay here again. Leave the car and walk round Loweswater. Stop off at Kirkstile Inn. Lovely. It s a bit like going back in time at The Grange but in a good way.

We booked to stay for a few nights at The Grange Country House in Loweswater to attend a wedding at the village hall. As the house was fully booked we stayed in Lucy’s Apartrment, which is a self catering unit. The decoration may be slightly dated, but it is comfy, cosy and clean. The king size bed is firm as... Stayed with my 2 young sons, arrived late but made to feel so welcome and given a much needed cup of tea. Beautiful room, comfy bed, pillows and hot shower. The kids & I loved talking to Lorna & Keith and they made us feel like family. Had a hearty breakfast before we headed off on our trek. Can't fault... More

We return to the Grange regularly for our main summer holiday which says it all really. We prefer the self catering facilities as it suits our dogs better and the welcome we receive each time is genuine and appreciated. Wonderful location with great views and smashing walks that start straight from the door it's everything that we want and we... More

I was in Cumbria for a couple of days on business and needed a place for 1 night B&B - not always easy in the Lakes. However, this was no problem to the owners here and I was made very welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great. Thanks.

My husband and I have stayed several times at the Grange and have loved every visit. Lorna and Keith are attentive and cannot do enough for their guests. We had tea and scones in the garden and many wonderful breakfasts. Stayed in Rm 1 which has a wonderful view and has recently been refurbished. This is a very relaxed hotel... More

We have stayed here many times over the last 20 years, starting with our honeymoon. We have always enjoyed the warm friendly atmosphere & good hearty home cooking. Over the years we have seen several changes & upgrades none more so than this time! Our room was beautifully decorated with high quality ensuite shower, very welcome after long days exploring... We stayed at The Grange as part of a walking journey in the Lakes. First the good point; the owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, our accommodation was poor - the shower did not work, no heating in our room other than a fan heater. Our evening meal was considerably over priced at £25 per head for... More

The owners are definitely lovely and the food is often home grown. Room 6 (which we had) has been refurbished and has a thick duvet and sparkling ensuite shower room. The location is superb with Loweswater just down the road for an early morning swim with the lake to myself.
