We stayed one night here and loved it. The roaring fire, mulled wine and board games made for a very relaxing night. AND the meals were amazing. The rooms are a little basic but the whole experience was fantastic and they fit in with the atmosphere of the hotel. I will be back ....

Oh where do i start... great service, awesome lounge and fantastic warm fire, considering the amount of snow outside, (but that was a bonus to me) Food was perfect. Our room was warm and comfortable. Time only allowed us to stay one night but We would have loved to stay longer.

FANTASTIC place to stay even with snow& ice on the ground. Very warm inside with large fireplaces burning the huge logs in the lounge/bar area &dining room, giving out plenty of heat, and radiator heating in rooms very cosy. Ensuite off our bedroom a bonus.Staff very friendly& helpful & loved wee Charlie(the dog). Our evening meal was fantastic, even the... More

One of the most welcoming, warm hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had dinner by the fire and would highly recommend to anyone. Don't worry if Danseys pass is closed, it seems that the hotel is always open.

We had a great stay for a catch-up with friends here. Friendly service, very warm rooms and good food (a breakfast buffet that kept us going all day). Wonderful ambience in the lounge areas. Felt just like being at home without having to do any of the work.

We had been looking forward to staying here for quite some time and we were not disappointed. Beautiful atmosphere, large roaring fires, great food and nice selection of wines. We were thoroughly looked after by Rosco and could not ask for more. The only minor complaint I might make (and it really is minor) is that we could hear our... More

Have to agree with previous reviewer ..... What has happened to this iconic pub?? After spending seven weeks in Central Otago, we visited Dansey's Pass four times. Each and every time there was the same sad atmosphere. The fire was not lit one single time, in a region where every place of business you enter, has a roaring fire! Lighting... More

I have been coming to the Danseys for more than 8 years now. Until now, it was one of my favourite places in New Zealand. It was a truly magical place to visit. You would always make the trek because you would be rewarded with outstanding hospitality, beautiful hearty food and a comfort like no other with that famous massive... More

This is the first time in my very extensive hospitality career,I have ever responded to a TripAdvisor review. In actual fact it has taken me almost an hour to figure out how to respond. When you manage a hotel whether it be Danseys or a 5 star in the city, all of your time and energy goes into making the... More

My husband and I got married at Danseys last week and spent two nights here along with 40 of our guests. It was the perfect location for the type of wedding we wanted. The accommodation is rustic, yet the rooms are lovingly groomed and comfortable. The wedding wouldn't have been possible without the Danseys staff who were incredible. Ang (the... More
