Great location . Loved the open fire. Good food and atmosphere . Snowed in the morning which really added to the experience . Great character hotel. Only down side would be the bathrooms, showers need attention

We stayed at the Coach Inn for two nights and it is difficult for me to do an "overall" rating as our experience varied from very good to very bad. The good part first: Quaint, lovely ambiance in bar/lounge area, great food and friendly staff. Angela (manager/chef) is a master in the kitchen and she delivered a variety of beautiful... More

16 adults and 10 kids. Arriving early afternoon, a feed of hot chips, coffee, and a wee tipple for the extra thirsty, and we were off to the nearby domain for touch rugby. Back to the hotel for a quick spruce up, then hijacking the sound system for a kids disco before our delicious buffet dinner, with a delicious ham... More

Arrived out late in the afternoon in the hope of having drink or two then an evening meal. However we were greated with, "We have no guests in tonight, the cook is away so there is no food available and we will be closing soon". We had travelled out especially to look at this Historic Hotel. Rather disappointing as it... More

Arrived about 4pm to start with a relax in front of the huge fireplace. Cold outside but very cosy in the lounge. A great wine list for making a selection of pre dinner drinks. The menu have a range of popular NZ dishes including Venison, beef, salmon and lamb. The rooms are very warm and comfortable and decorated on colonial... More

We stopped here for a leisurely Lunch in December and ended up staying all afternoon. Food was excellent as was the beer but the main plus point was the staff, the then bar staff were just about to leave and were very upset about it saying they possibly had the best job in world, having spent a few hours in... This was our best stay of our holiday. We stayed one night over Easter and would have stayed longer if we had not been booked in to stay in Queenstown the next night. We were greeted by Ang and Kevin who were shocked that we could get there as the road was closed at both ends from all the rain,... More

OMG! absolutely stunning location with an amazing history that truly makes you feel like you could step out the door and go gold panning right now! After a long and hot dusty ride on our motorbikes, a lovely icy cold beer was the first thing on our minds as we pulled up to this beautiful clearing with an old historical... More

We stayed at Dansey's Pass Coach Inn a couple of weeks back. It was a bit odd to be allocated a double room that couldn't be locked because the room was the fire escape route! Nevermind the room was comfortable and the recent period refurbishment was in keeping with the historic flavour of the place. The meanness of the bathroom... More
