I have been coming to the Danseys for more than 8 years now. Until now, it was one of my favourite places in New Zealand. It was a truly magical place to visit. You would always make the trek because you would be rewarded with outstanding hospitality, beautiful hearty food and a comfort like no other with that famous massive... More

My husband and I got married at Danseys last week and spent two nights here along with 40 of our guests. It was the perfect location for the type of wedding we wanted. The accommodation is rustic, yet the rooms are lovingly groomed and comfortable. The wedding wouldn't have been possible without the Danseys staff who were incredible. Ang (the... More

We were on a road trip with another couple and decided to travel thru the Danseys Pass. We stopped for lunch and a wine at the old Pub and the food was beautiful. What a gorgeous place. The trees outside were all turning golden and it was a stunning sight. The drive thru Danseys Pass was spectacular and when you... More

Just dropped in for a coffee on driving through on an amazing autumn day. The coffee was excellent but wait, the ginger crunch slice is the best I have ever had. Cheerful service. I would love to come and stay.

Great. Took the wife and kids for a stay overnight. Best place to escape. Discovered this place years ago and keep coming back. Played in the snow outside (just fell the day before), and we played board games around the open fire. Highly recommend. Service was great.

Initial impressions were not great - on checking in, it was a struggle for the manager to lift their head from the computer to greet us, but we did eventually get directed to the Lodge where we had 2 adjoining rooms. 1 was warm & cosy but the other was a lot cooler (and even though we cranked up the... Dansey's Pass Hotel is an iconic hotel on Dansey's Pass. It has quaint, original old rooms and the most fabulous lounge (read gigantic squashy sofas, wooden floorboards, huge stone fireplace) to chill out on. Or you can sit outside on the edge of the pass, almost expecting horses to go by. We've been here a few time and the food... More

What joy to stay at a hotel with no noise! Perfect to recharge the batteries after afew days on the road. The access track was easy, do not be put off. We did it on a heavy touring motorcycle with ease. The staff were friendly, rooms a little basic but very clean. If you are in the area try to... More

A very nice place for a weekend away. Relaxing and friendly. Old style and very clean. Meals were nice, staff chatted with you happily. Guests mixed with each other. Quiet location and a beautiful drive from the Duntroon side. Well worth a visit.
