Great place, will be back. Also visited your other pub The Plough in Gresford too only a few days ago, really friendly short guy behind the bar who I haven't seen before - you have such friendly staff. Both local type pubs but welcoming to everyone. Keep it up! Thanks

Set in the small tranquil village of Tarvin, this friendly and contemporary designed pub has plenty of bar space kept mainly for drinking, with lots of choice on drinkswith both draft and bottles to choose from. The dining area is well laid out with plenty of space and a hoid traditional pub menu and suitable for couples and families alike.... More

We were a group of 12 people who visited the George and Dragon on a very busy Saturday evening following the Christmas fair. We received outstanding service from Emily and the food was most enjoyable. Would highly recommend and we'll be back very soon.

I popped in for lunch. The girl behind the bar was lovely and my dog was allowed in and warmly greeted, but my lunch, a simple cheese and pickle sandwich with a few chips on the side was pretty awful. The chips were hard and the bread was dry and stale, with just a hint of cheese and pickle. This... More

On the way back from Warrington thought we would do a bit of a detour through the countryside find a nice country pub for Sunday lunch !!!!! Well found the pub the spuds where like bullets likewise the carrots gravy like water beef half cooked and very thin that thin I had to close the window or it mite of... More

The place was empty on a Sunday night, which should have been alarming. Limited selection of beer showed that they were not doing much in the week, either. Stopped for a meal despite the hideous decor. Meal was possibly one of the worst I had, you could just tell it was all out of the bag in the microwave. Even... More

We booked in on a Friday night and were welcomed by the lovely staff. The pub itself was clean, comfortable and modern. We were shown to our room and were pleasantly surprised as it was spacious, very clean and had an en-suite. The bedroom was furnished to a high standard with all the necessary tea and coffee making facilities in... More

We did not eat in here as we were on the way back from a night in chester & staying over the road, but do not judge this pub from the outside. Great trendy decor inside, good selection of beers & live music on Friday nights. If back in Tarvin again we would pop in for a pint or try... More

My husband and I stayed here by default when the online booking failed for a nearby English village pub. The George & Dragon turned out to be better we both thought. Set in a delightful village, quietly hidden away between two highways heading into Chester the G & D of Tarven was a haven. Well-appointed & clean, with wi-fi and... More
