We have just got back from 4 nights at The Castle Inn with our dog. It lives up to being extremely dog friendly, which was exactly what we wanted. I've given it 4 based on the following plus and minus points. Plus points: ++ very dog friendly, they have treats on the bar, take photos for their website, and offer... More

Came across this place while visiting Lulwoth Cove. What an excellent find. The food is excellent and the choice of local ciders, unrivalled. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. It was so good that we returned a few days later. We will spent a weekend at the Castle later this year.

We chose the Castle Inn because it was billed as dog friendly. It lives up to its billing and cannot be faulted if you are a dog. Dogs have access to all public areas, unlimited supplies of dog biscuits which are dotted around on the bar and sausages for breakfast! From a human perspective - the staff were very friendly... We had a fantastic weekend here. The B&B bedrooms are basic but lovely. We stayed in room 12 which was lovely. Large room with beautiful window seat. Ample storage, great selection of hot drinks, large comfy bed. The large bathroom house the worlds tightest toilet area but made for the best laugh, you had to reverse to use the toilet!... More

that you wonder how the wages bill can be viable. Huge portions, (its a pity they serve those silly puff pastry toppings), and a great selection of real ales and cider from the barrel. Plenty of space for humans and dogs will love it. Worth visiting.

We have been visiting the Castle Inn for 25yrs, it is a friendly, comfortable, welcoming place to stay. We have been over the years with our children and recently with our grand daughter. The staff are great and the food is of good quality and of plenty. Yes they observe old fashion opening hours and should be complimented for this. If... More

Stopped here just before closing one lunchtime. Offered to make us sandwiches if we ordered quickly as kitchen was closing at 2pm. Whilst the food came promptly and was of good quality we thought it was expensive for what it was. However, you cannot fault the surroundings or the decor of a bygone pub and if this is what you... The room we stayed in was The Cottage room 2 - disgustingly dirty shower room, hairs left from previous occupier. Mould by hand basin & on tiles around the shower tray. Taps dirty and floor by toilet dirty. Very poor bed linen, no bottom sheet just a worn & grubby looking valance acting as the sheet. Lumpy, stained pillows and... More

Stayed in Durdle Door for a short break in October and found the Castle Inn on the Internet. Despite being October the weather wasn't bad and managed to find seating outside of the pub. The staff were very friendly and ordering was pain free although inside the pub looked like it could do with a spruce up (I believe it... More
