This stopover on the C-Z was perhaps my favourite. Calm, tranquilly in a quiet location but stunning views up towards the snow capped mountains. The rooms have small balconies & modern bathrooms. There is even an elevator for the weary. The food & service was above the average for the price-range. It would be a good base for a few... More

We were thrilled we planned our layover day on the Haute Route for this hotel. Our room and bath were large and comfortable, with a balcony facing the mountains. The salon is a bright, comfortable room in which to relax and read. And the meals! Both regular and vegetarian dinners were excellent. Fresh, warm croissants for breakfast were a highlight.... More

Loved our hostess who was very Pretty! Pritte went above and beyond what we expected in this charming village. The lovingly restored property reminded me of luxurious times of the past. Our room was huge with 2 balconies. Both with views of the Alps. Comfy beds and huge bath. The common areas were stunningly beautiful. Don't usually gush over hotels... More

The village of La Sage is located above Evolène and therefore has a beautiful view and more sun. It is a lovely area. The hotel de La Sage is the biggest building in this village of old mountain chalets. It is a simple family hotel. The owner and worker were very welcoming and helpful. We had a large room with... We stayed here on during our Haute Route hike and enjoyed it very much. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom had a wonderful bathtub! The staff was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. The chef did an excellent job meeting our dietary requirements and preparing a special meal for us - vegetarian and gluten free. The salon was... More

Pritte and her staff are fabulous. The chef is a treasure. Views of the valley and surrounding alps are special. We needed to alter our plans to stay an additional night here. No problem! Huge bathroom added to the special feel. We also needed to leave very early and were delighted to find our breakfast ready and waiting. Yes, La... More

We spent a week-end at La Sage and enjoyed staying at this very homely place. The owner is a very nice lady and the overall atmosphere is relaxing. Dinner, served in a romantic dining room, was good. We had a dog with us and he was welcome as well. The hotel is very simple, no luxuries, but clean.

As part of our 11 day trek of the Haute Route this hotel was our shelter as we raced in out of the rain. A cup of tea was our welcome from Pretti who runs the hotel. This has got to be a first for me on arriving at a hotel. Nice touch. Great shower and efficient heating made for... More

Wow, 3 days into the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt and this lovely hotel couldn't have been a more pleasant surprise! Pretti and her husband who run the place where helpful, polite and charming. Together with super nice bathrooms (read huge bath!) and an excellent included meal, we were thrilled. Many thanks for a great night on a long,... More

We were originally booked elsewhere on this day of our hike but decided to try to see if we could get in. Because of three cancellations that day, we were able to get three rooms at a good rate, especially since it's very early in the hiking season. This was our "rest day" and we had hiked from Arolla. We... More
