Great location for an overnight stop. Peaceful setting surrounded by fields of sunflowers. Lovely gardens with swimming pool. Staff are lovely. Dinner and breakfast excellent.Good wine list. I would recommend this hotel most highly and will definitely stop there again.

My whole reason for staying at this place was to break a long journey with a good night's sleep. I didn't get one, because, like so many European hotels, they insist on supplying duvés or doonas, call them what you will. I can't abide these horrible bedding arrangements, and on an exceedingly hot and humid night, even after skinning the... More

Beautiful, tranquil location, surrounded by sunflowers. We were delighted with our find, and especially enjoyed our dinner outside on the terrace. We thought the meal was good value at €20 per person, and the quality was good. We only saw one person serving throughout our stay, but she was always there when we needed her, pleasant and efficient. Our one... More

Hotel is surrounded by fields and close to country residental area. Peaceful and great for hiking. Room met the usual standards. Breakfast as mentioned in other reviews, is without service staff.which i personally prefer. You get to eat there the usual. Baguets, fruits, cheese, ham, etc. Dinner was delicious. But somtimes with having cat around. Staff is friendly, but not all speak EN. Worth... More

The service wasn't great, we arrived at reception and after 5 minutes decided to phone the hotel to let them know we'd arrived. Dinner was ok and reasonably priced. The room was fine and quiet although not overly clean (lots of dust balls and the shower was quite unclean, and we had to keep turning water off mid-shower to wait... More

Once famously owned by Descartes, Le Pigeonnier has been sympathetically restored to offer comfortable accommodation and a restaurant which offered a perfectly acceptable dinner. Our room was simple but more than adequate and the silence after a long motorway drive was bliss. A wonderful night's sleep, no time for breakfast, excellent staff , lovely black cat - definitely recommend it... More

We've stayed here twice now, in the same room, and looking forward to staying again. We arrived on a motorbike and the peace and quiet when we got off our bikes was fantastic. Beautiful setting, very tranquil and relaxing. The room, while not fancy, is perfectly comfortable and on our two week tour was the only room that the air... More

We stayed here for one night on our journey homeward. I had read the reviews not only on trip advisor but also in the travel guides ( Alistair Sawday and Relais du Silence ) and thought it sounded good. We booked a suite as it was reasonably priced and we wanted more room. How disappointing! The property is promoted as... More

We stayed here on the 21/09/2013 and the stay could not have been better. This was just a overnight stopover but we would have stayed for longer and may well do next time. The staff, hotel and the food could not be faulted and this was a great way to end our holiday. The hotel is charming and has been... More

We have just spent 4 nights in this beautiful small hotel and could not have wished for more. The calm yet efficient atmosphere of the hotel, clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff all added to a most enjoyable stay in this delightful rural setting. As we do not eat meat the hotel had advised in advance that they could... More
