We chose this hotel which is just outside rejkavic for the outstanding value for money. Rooms are comfortable with nice big bathroom. We booked our tours through Grayline excursions and they collected us from the hotel which ws great and very efficient. Breakfast was varied and plenty to fill you up. The staff at the hotel are so helpful, nothing... More

As an Icelander living abroad it's so very important that you feel welcome when you are visiting home and the staff at Hotel Laxness do that so well. When traveling alone this is even more important. This time staying there, in the midst of cold winterstorms passing, the warmth of the place and the people there, melted away the frosty... More

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel and we couldn’t have wished for anything more. The location of the hotel is fantastic, it is out of the city center which adds to the charm of the place especially when we were there as it was snowing. The hotel is a great location... More

Me and my girlfriend have just stayed for 6 nights and have had an amazing time in Iceland thanks to the Shaun hotel manager, who organised everything including transport for us. We wouldn't have been able to do everything we wanted to without his help, in the week we went snowmobiling on the glacier as well as a tour, whale... More

The location is very good being right off the motorway (rt 1) so easy for getting to Reykjavik, golden circle etc, however we did notice a lot of noise from the road, although it does quieten slightly at night. the pictures make it look a lot more remote than it is - fast food chain right next door. Our first... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Hotel Laxnes and really enjoyed the warm, comfortable hotel. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was very helpful with making arrangements and answering our questions. We loved the view of the mountains and are sure that we could have seen the northern lights if the cloud cover hadn't been so thick. Breakfast... More

Laxnes Hotel is a good base for exploring Iceland. The hotel is basic but very clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is nothing special, but what makes the difference is the reception staff who can ,advise on , and book good tours and places to visit. I would stay here again!

The 3 other times we have been here were wonderful. This time is no exception to the rule. Extremely clean large rooms, breakfast was wonderful, they even had special items for my husband dietary needs. Told us good places to go for our interests and have a bunch of people they work with all the time. I can't wait to... More

Close to the city and the mountains. Great views. 5 minute walk to one of the best bakeries in Reykjavik and local food stores. 15 (may be 20 with kids) walk to a great pool with slides. 15-20 minutes by bus to the city. Everyone in the hotel was ready to help. Breakfast was good, we loved the yoghurts and... More
