Hotel laxnes is a great little hotel/motel bus connections into reykjavik are very good and any excursion through the many bus companies pick and drop off door to door.. when we had a problem with one of the tours not collecting us Sean the manager sorted it...the staff are ultra helpful, and for a continental breakfast it is brilliant...there wasn't... This lovely little hotel is just on the bus route for Reykjavik, so perfect location if you dont want something to central. Rooms were lovely, nice size with wifi and good views. Size were very helful in organising excursions and recommending where to visit in the local area. Good breakfast too.

We arrived quite late after a long day and were greeted with a lovely smile and welcome, I gave the receptionist my name and she checked her accounts and said, yes all paid for, gave me our room key, gave directions to our room and informed us that the bar was still open and that they did have a local... I had a great time at this hotel. The staff were always helpful, and even rang up our tour guide for us.The rooms were clean and spacious, basic but what we expected. A bonus was that the water does not smell of eggs! The breakfast had a large variety. We used the hot tub at night, this was great because... More

Like another reviewer said, this is a 3 star hotel, so adjust your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed. We stayed here for 6 nights in late August / early September and it was perfect for our needs. Quiet, clean, comfortable and close to amenities. We booked a twin room. I think next time we would book a studio... More

Had a wonderful stay in Iceland in September (18th -22nd). I stayed at hotel Laxnes on a recommendation. I wasn't dissapointed. Really great staff, very helpful. Any tours or transport to the Reykjavik would be arranged by Shaun the hotel manager with out a hiccup. Breakfast buffet wasn't to bad especially as it was included in the price. It's a... More

We stayed her for 3 nights in September 2014 and had a twin room on the ground floor with a view of the mountains. The accommodation part of the hotel looks recently built and is in good condition. The room was a good size, clean, with 3 beds. There's a kettle and tea and coffee facilities and a nice modern... More

Stayed here at the beginning of our vacation for 2 nights and again at the end for 2 nights. Bright, clean rooms. Ask for the 2nd floor studio rooms. Much bigger and great view! Breakfast was ok. Limited on restaurant choices but there is a Subway, KFC and a great Pub/Bar restaurant in the strip mall beside the Bonus grocery... More

The hotel is located a 20 minute bus ride from the town centre (Number 15) but has a great 'escape to the countryside' feel to it. Staff are friendly and available when needed. Rooms are very clean and spacious with lovely big windows and pleasant views. It felt very private, which was lovely and was completely quiet, which was strange... More
