I travelled to this hotel for a half term break, 4 nights travelling with 7 others including my two children aged 10 and 15 years. After quite a lot of research we chose this hotel because it was out of the centre of Reykjavik and we thought we had a chance of seeing the 'Northern lights' without travelling far. We... More

After carefully considering where to stay in Iceland and looking at several hotels in the city of Reykjavik a decision was made to stay out of the city and at Hotel Laxnes. How pleased were we when we arrived at Mosfellsbaer and saw where we were to spend our next 4 nights. There were 8 of us all of mixed... More

We generally like to stay in hotels a little out of the city centre that are quieter, offer better value, free parking and an easy commute in to the centre. This place fitted the bill perfectly. After arriving on a windy, snowy night we had a quick bite to eat in the nearby Subway then then settled down for the... More

Hotel Laxnes is a homely, comfortable hotel on a very efficient bus route into the centre of Reykjavik , 15 minutes away, so you can stay in beautiful countryside knowing that it is so easy to get into the city centre. Shaun, the staff and locals are so friendly and helpful. Thank you for ensuring we were met on time... More

Just returned for a 3 nights break at the Hotel Laxnes. A gem of a find. It is outside of Reykjavik but the bus 15 stops outside the hotel so it is easy to get to and from. Breakfast is simple but has everything you require - the waffles you make yourself are particularly good. As it was too cloudy... More

Took the family for a Northern Lights long weekend... Sadly cloudy weather, however, Shaun and his team @ Hotel Laxnes made the visit memorable for so many other Icelandic experiences... Guidance and advice for local trips and a warm and friendly stay made the weekend one to remember...

I don't know where to begin, if you want out of town ambience, Northern Lights views (activity dependant), All round smiles, mini bar and pool table. One name, Hotel Laxnes. This has been my second visit on my second visit to Iceland and both times I've been sold. I will be booking again for the August bank holiday as soon... More

our stay at hotel laxnes was brilliant. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. The breakfast was really nice and since I've left I've been craving the waffles. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much to ask, they even recommended what were the best excursions to go on. since my return I am booking to return to... More

Spending our final of 3 nights at this diamond of a hotel. Sean, Nunu and all the staff here fall over themselves to make a trip as successful and rewarding as possible, from prompt emails prior to stay to giving advice on everything Icelandic. The hotel is served by a good public bus service to Reykjavik (20 min drive) bars,... More

Stayed three nights, early January and apart from the crazy weather the place was lovely! The hotel is nice, cosy and has really good local bus links. The surroundings are generally quiet, with sine nice bars/ restaurants near by. The staff were a genuine pleasure and really helpful, with good local knowledge. The room we had was large, warm and...
