In comparison to the some of the previous reviews, the village has moved on quite considerably in the past 12 months. It is well worth the visit and people shouldn't be put off. The hotel itself is in a great location at the outskirts of the tourist elements of the village and has everything you need on the doorstep, including... More

Located at the eastern end of the village Charming wooden hotel, lovely balcony on third floor overlooking the village However beds very hard and can hear everything going on in adjacent rooms The village is still undergoing construction, and is probably being doubled in size At the moment it is a quiet lijiang, complete with water wheels, but I think... It is a completely wooden hotel equiped with modern facilites. The hotel just locates in the village and faces a river running through the village. From the hotel, one can have a whole view of the village and the farming land. Have a cup of tea on the corridor of the hotel and enjoy the view of the village by... More

Zhaoxing is a minority village I was very much looking forward to visiting, based on other reviews and photos. I had booked two nights here, but after one, we decided to leave and move on earlier than planned to the Drangon's Back terraces. The reason? The entire village, including the roads leading to it from all directions, is under construction!... More

We stayed at the old Zhaoxing hotel, which is in a Dong style building. Rooms are quite basic, good size, but could be cleaner. Walls with stains, a bit dusty. But hey, this is China. This old hotel is situated in a side street to the main street. This side street starts directly opposite the daily market. The hotel had... More

We stayed for two nights here in August as part of an extensive 5 week tour around China. Overall I was probably expecting a bit more from this hotel but it is still definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, as is very common in China the centre of the village is being completely dug up to provide a new road. Hence,... More

We arrived in this hotel late for an overnight stay. Initially, the lobby was empty and looked deserted and cavernous. Eventually, someone came in to check us in. The wooden structure of the hotel was quite impressive, however, carrying our luggage to the third floor was a bit of a challenge. After leaving our bags we went out to eat... More

There are two hotels with the same name, this is the second one you come to, which is better though more expensive. We stayed in the VIP wing, which was somewhat recently built. The room was reasonable and the balcony was very pleasant. One reviewer compared it favourably to Chinese four star hotels, but I beg to differ. There was... More

I really can only echo what reviewer helenakit said. We also stopped in the VIP annex but ate at the cafe next door which is highly recommended. The owners family grow all the fresh ingredients - melons, corn, rice, etc - and the food is very good. The rooms are excellent, spotlessly clean and the power shower is probably the... More

I am hoping this is the right hotel - Zhaoxing Hotel in the middle of Zhaoxing in Guizhou province. We arrived here to check in and were told that we were staying in a different building. This entailed a significant walk along pedestrian streets and beside the river (someone else carried the luggage) to arrive at the "VIP Building". Ideally... More
