hotel is OK, although we booked for 2 nights in May 2012 and after the first night we were kicked out because our room was commandiered by some government officials who turned up out of the blue. This left us looking for alternative accommodation. Very poor service. We were told the wifi was not available in rooms but lan access... More

Our tour group stayed in this hotel for two nights in the middle of January 2012 as a base to view the famous Yunnan rice paddies about an hour from here. The hotel has been newly renovated and the rooms sure do reflect this. The lobby is open and airy. The reception desk is made of one huge tree trunk,... More

XInjie, where the hotel is located, is a simple town, so the people are very not sophisticated in terms of hotel management. But, they are doing fine under such circumstances. Upgrading is still in process. When I stayed there last week (Dec. 21-24), the new carpeting was just installed. The rooms have been renewed, tho signs of the old are... More

We stayed at the Yunti two nights. The agency was saying that the Yunti had no charm but was confortable. It is also in complete renovation so we were welcome by the noise and dust and a lift blocked for the works. Confort is basic. The linen smells humidity and it is as clean as it can be given the... The hotel now is a bit of a mess because they are undertaking renovation, but the new rooms are quite nice. And I am grateful to them because they gave me a room even if I had no Chinese cash left -and their Visa card machine was off due to renovation-, they accepted to give me a room till I... More

We stayed at the Yunti Express Hotel. In this village you don't have a lot of options so why not stay here. Our room was basic but clean; the bed is rockhard though. The shower was also basic but clean; there is no shower curtain so make sure you remove everything that shouldn't get wet. The elevator doesn't operate before... More

We stayed two nights in the old building. The new building is currently undergoing construction, we were offered a room there but you have really to walk through all the dust and take the noise during day time. The old building has – in my opinion – the better location and view. Unfortunately construction of the main plaza, which is... More

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-located. The food at the restaurant across the way was absolutely delicious (not sure if it was affiliated with the hotel or not). The location was just fantastic, a great place to explore the ancient verdant rice terraces. The village itself, with its daily market, is neat, too, lots of people in different native... More

Yuanyang is a worthwhile stop if you're traveling to/from the Vietnamese border - the surrounding scenery is stunning. We chose this hotel as we thought it would be the easiest to locate, and most likely to have English / English speaking staff (as, to our shame, we do not speak any Mandarin). It lived up to expectations in that regard.... More

The hotel said they were experiencing a drought and there would be water only from 21.00 to 22.00. Actually, there was no water at all!! They provided a bucket to flush the toilets but that was about all. Yet, they had water to wash the bedsheets and in the kitchen. The carpets were dirty, the staff hardly spoke English. Only... More
