Decided to extend our stay at Hotel Barolo to 2 nights. Great place, spectacular views, good restaurant, wonderful wine tasting and great family service. Pool was a life saver as it was very hot. (Keep in mind that one needs to wear a bathing cap, available to buy for a cheap enough price.) The family room we had was huge,... More

Charming hotel nestled amongst the vineyards of Barolo. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is an absolute must- serving exquisite homemade Italian cuisine and divine locally produced wines, not to mention the romantic setting of the outdoor terrace! Rooms are simple but lovely and clean.

Fell upon this hotel purely by chance having crossed from the French border; wasn't looking for anything spectacular just somewhere nice and clean to spend the night.....well what a wonderful surprise this turned out to be - the hotel is set in the most charming town up a hill overlooking breathtaking scenery. The hotel room (double) itself cost €100 per... More

I was part of a group staying in the new part of the hotel. Rooms are spacious; some look out on the castle. I looked toward the vineyards. It's all picturesque. Watching grapes come in from the vineyard for crushing is an added bonus. Getting into my shower/tub combo required some acrobatics. It's more than 2 feet higher than floor... More

My family stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful weekend. The room was clean, had three beds and the airconditioning was good enough even though it was a very hot summer. The meal at the restaurant was stunning - superb salami, fresh pasta, tasty rabbit and delicious deserts along with a bottle of red from the winery in the... More

We stayed 2 nights in a nice and big family room with a great bathroom. We had a very good and long evening dinner with our friends on the terrace looking at the castle. We enjoyed the secrets of the wine cellar, the car trips and walks in and close to Barolo and the good breakfast in the courtyard. The... More

I have rated this hotel as excellent for price point to comfort and cleanliness. Lovely family, great cooks in the Italian slow food following. It is an original Hotel with a great restaurant situated in a perfect setting of wine fields and a walk to the town centre and castle. It is a place to chill out and relax not... More

Had stayed in the Hotel Barolo twice before, but some years back, before they expanded and got a fancy new wing and a swimming pool no less. Although the price difference is not that great, we decided to stay in the old section, for old time's sake. Glad we did, because we didn't have big expectations about the service or... More

We stayed in the new wing, room 304, for one night in mid October. The hotel was pretty empty and therefore quiet and peaceful. The room was somewhat impersonal, but clean and spacious, with a good balcony overlooking the town. Breakfast was fine, and unlike another reviewer we were offered 'proper' coffee from the machine, as much as we wanted.... More

By all means stay in the new wing, somewhat more expensive, but worth the difference. Ask for a room with view towards the pool and castle, on clear days it is absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are old-fashioned on purpose to revive the XIXth century atmosphere, but the bathroom is modern and well equipped, the ample buffet breakfast served in very nice... More
